    spaghetti worm infestation

I have a problem with spaghetti worms. I think there are other names for them, they make little tubes out of sand about 1 to 1.5 mm in dia. and have two tentacles they extend for food. I have an infestation, my whole bottom is covered with them, I means covered, thousands of them. So many that...

    close call

I recently had a close call. I woke up for work about two weeks ago, went in to look at the aquarium as I normally do and all the water was gone from my 80g reef except about 6". I would guess it had been this way for not much over an hour as everything was still wet. I was lucky in that I had...

What salt mix do you use?

I have recently come across a report called the "S15 report". It was new and eye opening to me (I'm 6 months new to reef aquariums) but I'm sure old news to many of you. I would like to hear from you all, is this report of any value? What do you think about their salt mix (Marine Environment)...

    I see now

This is got to be one of the most restrictive lamest forums around. What kind of poll only allows 2 options. Even the soft ware show 4 options as a default?????????????????

can some1 do me a favor???

How about dumping in a little at a time and watching the SG. You do have some means to monitor the SG don't you, or do you just mix and hope?

    Another what are these

Today I cleaned one of my fluval filters. When I pulled out the foam part of the filter I had these slug like creatures sticking on it. About 8 or 10 of them, about 1.5 to 2 cm long and dead at this point. What are they and are they good or bad? Should I take measures to keep them from getting...

Need help fast! Black worm nightmare!

There is a product call "Coral Dip". It’s intended for new arrivals before you introduce them into the tank. You might try that. I agree, dipping your coral in freshwater might do them harm.

What to supplement in a reef tank

My reef tank is about 4 months old and starting to do really good I think. Coralline is showing up all over. My polyps are multiplying and my Xenia is budding. I have been doing some supplementing but need some advice on what I should be testing for and supplementing as well as what supplements...

Need help fast! Black worm nightmare!

Did you do a freashwater dip of the fish before you put them in the QT? I think you can do this and if it kills the worms it would prevent them from infesting the QT. Sundance

    Brissle worm

What do Bristle worms look like and are they bad. I saw a small worm (only for a sec. or so) today, about 2 cm long reddish brown and it was all legs, like a centipede. Does this sound like a bristle worm? Thanks

    Water change-everything dead

I'm new to Saltwater fish but I do know about electricity. Unless you are thinking the bad pump released some kind of chemical or something it's not likely the pump shocked the fish and coral to death. It's like a bird on a wire. The bird isn't grounded so it isn't shocked, same with the fish...

    keeping coral rock in place

I see many beautiful reef setups here and was wondering, how do you keep all this stuff in place and looking natural? Do you just wedge the rock in place when you get something new on a rock or do you affix it in place. If you affix it how do you do it? Thanks, Sundance
