How about dumping in a little at a time and watching the SG. You do have some means to monitor the SG don't you, or do you just mix and hope?

There is a product call "Coral Dip". It’s intended for new arrivals before you introduce them into the tank. You might try that. I agree, dipping your coral in freshwater might do them harm.

Did you do a freashwater dip of the fish before you put them in the QT? I think you can do this and if it kills the worms it would prevent them from infesting the QT. Sundance

What do Bristle worms look like and are they bad. I saw a small worm (only for a sec. or so) today, about 2 cm long reddish brown and it was all legs, like a centipede. Does this sound like a bristle worm? Thanks

I'm new to Saltwater fish but I do know about electricity. Unless you are thinking the bad pump released some kind of chemical or something it's not likely the pump shocked the fish and coral to death. It's like a bird on a wire. The bird isn't grounded so it isn't shocked, same with the fish...

I see many beautiful reef setups here and was wondering, how do you keep all this stuff in place and looking natural? Do you just wedge the rock in place when you get something new on a rock or do you affix it in place. If you affix it how do you do it? Thanks, Sundance
