tank overlaps stand by 1/8th inch!!!!

I've never had any problems with tanks and stands. When I had all my tanks set up, many were just sitting on cement blocks. A 55 gal tank with 6 inches of FLAT support on each end (nothing supporting the middel) is able to handel the weight of the water and 2" of sand. BUT... I don't advise...

    Any one done this?

Hi Weberian I think that since more and more people are wanting/trying solar, the price is going to stay the same or even go up more. I cant afford those high priced panels, so I get the individual damaged cells. Hooking them togeatger is a pain, but worth it. The ones I used on one panel...34...

    Coral ID?

The reason I'm asking is that the young kid at the LFS had a list of what was there but no idea of what was what. I can't remember what all was on the list. Some of them I knew...but I decided that this may possibly be a Yellow Umbrella soft coral...which was on the list Did I gess right? The...

I wouldn't get a carpet anenome ....they can out-grow a 55gal in less than a year. Lights: start at 10 hours per day....but watch the temp

    Help me with this order

I would consider waiting if you are removing the CC and then adding the sand.....lots can happen to the water quality once you remove all the "goodies" thats in the CC. IMO

Can't find southdown, what else to use?

Not positive on how long I've been using the silica sand, but I would gess about 4-5 months now. I had a nasty hair algae problem at the time I started switching to silica.... now there is none. (may or may not be related). The water is crystal clear. Even the tank with Feather Caulerpa is doing...

    sw shelf life

I've seen reports on how bottled water often has bacteria (the kind you buy for drinking water). It sits in the shelf for too long and can go bad. The bacteria may or may-not be harmful. Saltwater in a "less than steril" container will also start coloniazing bacteria over a period of time. The...

    Bubbles

I would shut them both off for a few hours, or until the bubbles have all cleared the water....don't worry about the bubbles on the galss... etc. Then just turn on the powerhead and wait an hour or so. If there is still air trapped in the powerhead you may get more bubbles..... Move the P.head...

    Juv. queen angel

Hard question to answer..... It all depends on what, and how ofter you feed them. Wild gess would be aprox 1 year. Under-feed to keep smaller = prone to disease.

    Bubbles

I would shut one of them off to determine which is causing the bubbles. Don't panic :nervous: I've seen too many say that bubbles will kill your fish..... Only true if its for an extended period of time.... Reefs have billions of bubbles in the tides..... If bubbles don't stop in a day or two...
