    My Aquarium!

The aquarium itself (meaning the inside of the glass part) isn't the greatest for I need a chiller to be able to stock coral, but I'm proud of the stand I built (especially the design I did for the doors)! PS - I also built the cat perch that's to the left of the tank, and as you can see... it's...

    Diy 180

I thought I would share a few pics of the stand/canopy I built for my 180. It's not finished as of yet, but I did put water, rock, and sand in it to start the cycle process. The majority of rock you see in the tank is homemade, by the way.

Squidd (or anyone): Critique Sump Design Please

:help: Please take a look at my sump design and let me know of any problems you see in my engineering. As you can see, it's for a 180 gal tank. Not shown is a mag 36 used for my closed-loop system. Thanks for your input!!!!

    Tuesday Night 6 Pack!

I've been a part of SWF and in this hobby for a little over a year, and realized I really haven't shown any pics of my tank (current 120). As long as everyone doesn't mind a little green (a direct result of my stupidity from using tap water up until 5 months ago... but I'm slowly gaining ground...

    MH Layout ? for a 200g

My problem is my new tank is 7' long. I'm undecided if I am going to use 3 or 4 250w MH's (w/3 or 4 110 Actinic VHO). 3 doesn't quite cover the "2' rule", but 4 is a bit too much (if you can actually have TOO much light)... and it has me concerned about heat problems.

It's time to play... "Name That Thing"

What is this thing???? Is it the latest pic from the Hubble Space Telescope? Is it what a person sees after going to a Pink Floyd concert?:notsure: Or is it a pic of the 4 week old meat loaf in my refrigerator?

    Pavestone High Desert Sand

Does anyone know if Pavestone's "High Desert Sand" reef-safe? Seems this is the only sand HD is carrying now. It even has the same SKU# as Old Castle's (Southdown's) "Tropical Play Sand".

    Acrylic or Glass?

I'm at a crossroad... Do I go with an acrylic or glass tank for a reef setup? So I'm here to ask the experienced "Reefers" what they prefer and why... If I go with glass, I am going to purchase a reef-ready (w/overflows) 200 gal tank (84x24x24) for just under a $1000. But if I opt for acrylic, I...

    Majestic Angel

I'm upgrading to a 270 gal tank, and would love to get a large Angel that was reef safe. The Majestic would be perfect, but I've read conflicting reports concerning their compatibility w/reef type set-ups. Has anyone here had success keeping this Angel in a reef?

    Yet ANOTHER Lighting Question!

I'm planning setting up a 270 gal tank that is 36" tall, and was wondering if anyone has had success with a tank that tall using only 250 watt MH's...? I have a few corals in the sandbed of my 120 that are thriving under the 250's, and would hate to put them in the 270 w/out enough light, unless...

    Trigger in a Reef

Has anyone had success keeping a Huna-Huna (Picasso) Trigger (or any Trigger, for that matter) in a reef tank? They are extraordinary fish and I would love to own one, but only if it's realistically possible. I have a 120 gal reef w/non-aggressive fish, coral and inverts.

    Tang Compatibility

Has anyone had any success keeping two species of Zebrasoma Tangs together? I currently have a Yellow Tang, and have an opportunity to possibly aquire a Gem Tang (pictured left...my icon), but they're both Zebrasoma. I had a Hippo at one point, and the Yellow was very aggressive with it when I...
