Tank size for a mantis shrimp

4inch peacock in a 3g?.... Unless you meant to type 30, You seriously need to get that animal a larger aquarium. I don't think I would even put a 1" mantis in a 3g.

Tank size for a mantis shrimp

I'm guessing you're looking at a Peacock mantis, Odontodactylus Scylarrus, if that is the case you should look at a 25-30g tank. I'm sure a 20g would suffice, but I'm for giving the animal plenty room to spare. When/If you get him Post Pictures! I love seeing hobbyists getting into mantis...

    Any Mantis Owners?

Yes VERY sensitive to salinity changes, it can kill them if you're too careless about it. I've read that giving them shrimp is probably the best, but you should feed them live crabs/shrimp every so often. I fed my mantis live just to watch him hunt. Goodluck and congrats! Also how large is the...

J.O.P. 15g is too small for that large of a mantis. Odontodactylus Scylarrus would be best fitted in around a 30g tank, just so he has ample room to explore and whatnot. Mantis looks great btw, post more pictures! http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/arthrop...me=o_scyllarus That is done by a well known...

    150 FOWLR stock list.

Its a Gulf Scorpionfish Their max is about 14". The snapper i was told is about 24", but I would probably get rid of him when he got about 16" or so. I would like to keep the Anthias on the list, since they are probably my favorite fish. What would they house better with? What seems out of place?

    Huge Mantis!!

Not all amntis shrimp are the evil scourge some poeple think. I kept a 4" mantis fed well in my 72g and he left everything else alone. Anthia's and damsels would swim right next to him when he was running around the tank and he would ignore them. I dont think your mantis will attack any of...

    Do You Like Rap?

Rap is terrible. I understand some people like it, but i can't understand WHY they do. Classic rock is the best of all. Pink Floyd, Rush, The Red Hot Chili Peppers... also Sublime and Primus are great bands.

What a little rock & roll will do

No no.. Metallica isa great band. I'm talking about these new young kid bands with the unecessary(sp?) screaming. I'm not saying screaming is bad, I got the new System of a Down CD and it's awesome. I'm not saying young kid bands are bad... just the unecessary(sp?) screaming is annoying.
