sorry.. just read the tank size.. u could throw in some fish food to cycle your nano.. no need to buy shrimp unless u dont have food already and are headed to the grocery store..

throw in a piece of dead shrimp from the grocery store and let it rot away... bet u get a spike then!! the dead shrimp will spike the ammonia and kick in the bacteria that will convert it to nitrites which will kick in another bacteria to convert it to nitrates.. all go to zero and you are...

i say leave it and see how it does.. i lost a halide due to a ballast problem for 2 or 3 days, but the other still spreads some light on that side, so i had minimal brownage.. actually, the only thing that went brown was the polyps on my purple gorgonian..

if u like that then try a decorator crab.. they will trim your corals for u and carry them around the tank till death does them part, in which he will just grab another snipping and have at it again.. the coraline on the emerald could be a sign that it hasnt molted in quite some time... do you...

what interests me is what kind of fish are in this fowlr tank..?? coral is fish food to begin with, might be like throwin a mandarin in with a shark if u have some that eat corals..

or u can also start with a browned out acro and see what color it turns.. usually green.. but fun to try for the first one since brown is cheaper.. or u can also try frags of several different species and see which ones you like in your tank and either let them grow out, or buy a whole...

low flow, medium light.. or even on the botton under halides.. you can spot feed em mysis and they look pretty cool eating.. definately not high flow because the water can hit the bubble against its skeleton and damage itself.. have fun with it.. they are cool

they will get nutrients as they float by them in the water.. no spot feeding is necessary, but as mentioned above, u will see faster growth, and possibly better color..

try feeding the crabs before adding the snails.. then they will have a chance to get a good foot on the glass and be less suseptible to attack..

i dont run carbon in my sump, fuge, or display.. it is in my ro/di unit though, so I cannot say I dont use it at all.. When using carbon in your system, you will want to change it weekly.. a few reasons: after about a week, the bacteria will actually cover the porous surface of the carbon...

what i dont get is why people announce it all over forums instead of writing the company themselves....
