I have a copper question. I bought a auto shut off for my RO/DI filter and need to plumb it in. The only parts that I can find are brass. They are little sleeves that let the compression rings seat and not crush the hose. Has anyone used them?

If the tank is GLASS then you can use a razor blade. It works even better. Just lay it down at an angle and then bump up to the spot and it is gone.
Do Not Attempt on Acrylic!
I am with yu Pez. My wife and two teen age daughters use enough hairspray in the house that the doors stick.
With no side effects to the tank. I personally don't use anything on the glass except RO/DI water and a squegee. But I can not believe that a small amount of air borne windex will...
Yea, the engineer goby will move more sand then you can. They are neat to watch, word of cation- Have all rock on the bottom! If there is sand under the rock your rock work will also be sifted(shifted).
I read somewhere that it can not penetrate healthy skin, but cuts and openings, eyes, mouth... this can be points to watch. The LFS frag a zoa one day and had a cut, he remembered the cut very quickly. It must burn a little then goes numb. He put everything back and next time seen him with...
I went back and read your post, your Ok! Nothing there to haunt you in the future.
Just kiding, I didn't go back, but I bet there is alot of others that will.
As far as moving it. Give up they will go where they want. Mine has been in 70% of the holes in the rocks of my 90 gal. I start to think it is happy and wake up to a new tank. This is the longest it has been in one spot. It is about 10" from where I put the stupid thing 2 months ago.
Start with a master test kit; Amm, Ph, nitrite, trates, also a refracto. Then as you go add Alk, Calcium, Mag, phos,TDS.
Hopefully don't have to mention a thermometer.
I have read that without an auto top off one would be safer in the 34ppt/1.024 range. Since the numbers will go up as water evaporates. I am in the process of adding my auto top off now. Filling the sump twice a day gets old fast.
How deep is your sand. I have a very thin layer on bottom so if it looks a little nasty i can stir it up in spots and no ill effects.
If the bed is more then a an inch or so then leave it alone.

Why is this still here? Anyway, I just made a batch of this it cost me about $3 and it is enough for close to two months. So at that rate- $3 x 3= $9.00. I will make my own!
