240 Gallon "Rectangle of Life" Tank Diary

This will probably be my last post! At least for the near future. I have taken on the venture of opening a pet store in las vegas and I now find myself spending all my time at the store. I would like to update everyone on some additions to the tank. I added a Labouti Wrasse and a male Pink...

240 Gallon "Rectangle of Life" Tank Diary

Had to remove the Melanarus Wrasse he was way to aggressive with the Rhomboid Wrasse. Used a fish trap was surprised how easy it was to catch him. Less than 10 minutes. Good thing he was greedy. Also added Dual Cabinet lights to the stand and connected a switch to the apex breakout box so that...

Looking for a protein skimmer that will fit...

Look into recirculating skimmers. This may be the best thing for you! You can always purchase a bigger sump.

Hakari makes some awesome products and they make them in various sizes for your needs. Plus they have a low water package content.

Variable speed pumps are going to cost you. The ecotech ones from my experience are better and ecotech support is amazing. There are test that show flow verses turbulence, apparently turbulence is better than flow and tunze puts out better turbulence. Im not that technical to understand the...

    Separate Refugium and Sump?

I run two different tanks for a sump and another for a fuge. My preference as it allows me to clean my sump and not have to worry about the fuge side. It has been a blessing. However as you can see I utilized all my space under my tank. These are both custom 50 gallon sumps So my filter area is...

    Tank has arrived!

There should never be a need to ball valve a drain line. If I am looking at the pictures correctly then you have a ball valve on a drain line.
