Just my 2 cents, but I think the more diversity, the better. Try a "blue tuxedo urchin" instead, they won't bother the rocks (very soft short spines), other inverts or corals and are pretty fun to watch because they pick things up and attach it to themselves as camo, my LFS guy also claims they...

I started using 'coral-vital' and within a week I had corraline showing up on my circ pumps and my overflow, coincidence ? not sure, but stable water parameters are absolutely neccesary HTH

I do know the basic anatomy of the urchin, not in depth but the "beads" were about pin head size and yellow, could they be eggs or just poop ? as I stated earlier I had never seen this before

found this thing growing on a piece of rock, not a great pic but, it's pink in color similiar to xenia or clove polyps, ~1 inch long and fleshy thanks

My blue tux urchin has little yellow beads coming out of the top of his/her body, i've had him for well over a year and never saw this before, any help out there ?

I set up a 10g for my daughter, ~3lbs of sand from my reef tank, half water from my tank-half fresh mix, 10lbs live rock, no outside filtration, just 10% water changes weekly, this tank flourished, as far as coralline and the mushroom I put into it--I wish my reef tank did this well:(

29 gl sump/fuge with 2 18w combo's and a 75w gro-lite I stole from my wife's plant stand, grape caulerpa is growing like crazy HTH

Besides keeping water parameters in check, my LFS guy told me to take a toothbrush and brush some coraline that's already present to release the spores and hopefully spread HTH

I'm currently running that setup on my 65g (1 03 & 10k) will be adding 2 more soon, 65's are kinda deep, no problems at all, and a good value IMO:D

OTS-how is your clam doing under your current light setup, I have a 29 with 2 96-watt PC (1 actinic-1 10k) ?

I've had a scooter and a mandarin together for about 8 months now, with weekly feedings of live brine they seem to be fine, very active and fat

I had one for about a year and a half, had to sell it when I moved, nothing seemed to bother it, I fed it silversides,brine, and krill about once a week, they tend to roam until they find a spot they like, depending on it's size, they can knock things over until they get settled ... lol

I'm doing regular water changes (10% a week) and I still have a problem with Nitrate levels, so I'm just trying to see what the general population is doing to control nitrates, other than regular water changes

My clowns just loved my flowerpot:D although it may have led to it's demise:( Good luck
