    bak pak 2 bubbles

I let the bubbles go for 2 days and now they are gone. The thing is working perfectly! I will replace the bio bale with live rock though. I just like that better. The skimmer is pulling out dirty foam. This is the fourth skimmer I have ever purchased and the only one to ever pull out a...

That sounds good. I like the idea of putting live rock in there. I'll try that. Thanks

    bak pak 2 bubbles

I put a bak pak 2 on my 55 FOWLR tonight and now I have millions of little bubbles in the tank. I see the bubble trap online that replaces the bio bale. Does this work or is there another solution to the bubbles that the Bak Pak makes? Thanks

    Aquapod/nano cube thread

What about a skimmer in these things? I am looking into a nano tank and I see that some places recommend a small skimmer. How does the in tank skimmer fit on these things with the hood? I have been keeping larger(75&55) tanks for a few years now but am kind of confused about these smaller...

    live sand

I took down a tank and have approx. 120# of southdown. I am giving this sand away for only the price of the container I bought to hold it. This tank was up for two years and sand is very nice. I am keeping the sand in water. I posted this in the classified section but nobody local responded. I...

    live sand/cheap/trade

I have approx. 120# of live sand from a tank I took down tonight. This sand bed has been going for about two years and is very clean. It is southdown. I also have a 48" 4x55W JEBO reef light fixture with good bulbs that I will trade for a standard 48" flourescent light fixture, with bulbs (I...

    hermit crabs

One of them is pretty big. Not as big as the fish though. The biggest one is probably the size of a golf ball. That is the crab only, the shell is much larger. I have never seen a hermit this big. He is really cool.

    hermit crabs

I picked up a few hermit crabs in the Gulf of Mexico by Biloxi this past week. Does anyone think it would be a problem to put them in my aggressive tank with a Niger and Blue jaw? I have had a few bluelegs in there for a long time. I am not worried too much about the hermits but my wife thinks...

    adhesive

If I was going to use a glass aquarium for a sump/refugium, what type of materials and adhesives would be best or easiest to make baffles. If I use glass do I just use silicone caulk? Can I use acrylic sheets and if so what adhesive would be best? Thanks.

question about buying dry live rock

I was going to ask a similar question so I will do it here. Can you add a few pieces of lava rock to your live rock reef? I have slowly added pieces of tuffa and lace rock. Wondering about lava, red or black.

    beehive

I know this is a crappy picture but it is all I have right now. This is the rock that is all covered with slime. This is different than the other things. This rock is completely covered in some type of translucent, soft, thick slime. I have another rock that is half covered. This is what worries...

    button anemone?

He would probably give me some cyanobacteria for $1.

    button anemone?

Is a "button anemone" really aiptasia? I was at a LFS and they were selling what they called button anemones for $2. They looked like aiptasia to me. Their reef tank is overrun with these things.

    beehive

My tank has been set up for about eight months now and is doing great. I have a 75gal FOWLR with about 80lbs of live rock. I have noticed recently a few soft structures that look like wasp nests. These things are sort of translucent, soft and seem to be home to a bunch of pods. They are half egg...
