Glad you finally figured it out. What's your point?
So you support drinking and driving.
You no longer support obamas healthcare plane
And coming full circle you support my right to drin k in a bar and carry a firearm risk accidental discharge into my leg.
Darth (I swear the discharge only happened once) Tang
I used to drink and drive all the time in my high school days. I'm still here.
Of course I still support his plan. The problem with you is you don't understand it. You're too busy listening to Michelle Bachmann and Mitt Romney's version of that plan.
Ah, I get it. You're going with the "I can do whatever I please because it's my body" theory. The problem with your logic is, drinking and driving is against the law, the part of Obama's healthcare plan you're talking about won't be implemented until 2014 (if it ever does, and is currently a law), and most sane cities and states claim that carrying a firearm into a public facility that serves alcohol is against the law. Until the "holier than thou" Republicans get Roe vs. Wade overturned, abortion isn't illegal.

Just because it is lawful to do still doesn't change that it is a selfish act.
Glad to see you are selfish....explains a lot of your point of views.

How come a woman's right to privacy allows her to hire a state licensed practitioner to perform an abortion but it doesn't allow me to have medicines or treatments allowed in many other countries but not here because the FDA hasn't approved it?
Roe v Wade was one of the most boneheaded rulings in the history of the supreme court. And that is coming from someone who believes abortion should be legal.

Now isn't that being selfish? No one's stopping you from going to these other countries and getting these drugs. I personally don't agree with many of the restrictions the FDA puts on certain drugs. I like the one's where they allow these drug companies to license these name-brand drugs for several years, so another drug company can't create a generic version that costs a third of the price. We could always abolish the FDA, and let people buy whatever drugs they desire. Just don't complain or try to sue anybody because of the side effects from some untested, unproven medication you took to cure your ills.

Then shouldn't women wanting an abortion do the same?

So that would mean they are criminals and that law-abiding citizens would stop the criminals. All any prohibition on guns does is guarantee unarmed and helpless victims. Look up how much home invasions, rape and murder have sky-rocketed in Australia and England since their stupid gun bans. The news media, there and here will not cover it and the governments there try to cover it up. Everywhere gun laws have been liberalized in the U.S., all violent crime has dropped in that state. Your fellow citizens are better than you think and the criminals are much worse than you think. I happen to believe we Americans are smarter and better than liberals give us credit for and criminals are much more than unfortunate victims of circumstance than liberals think. It is that simple.
This may have been dealt with in subsequent posts, but I don't want to read 4 pages worth, so here is my answer - Try to get your facts straight. Australians never has a "right" to bear arms, and the 1997 buy back affected only semi-automatic and pump action weapons owned by sporting clubs, hunters and collectors, and exemptions were fairly easy to apply for. Since the buy-back the number of armed robberies has indeed risen, but not as fast as the population, so in fact the rate of armed robberies has actually declined sine the buy back. The story is similar for murders, and the rate is down since 1997. I'm not saying this is the whole story, but your argument is so full of holes that it becomes invisible. Note that many "conservative" states have far higher crime rates than "liberal" New York. Just fact checking...

Not when it endangers the life of another human being. Sorry, I have atleast that much respect for my fellow man.....I may call people idiots or ridicule their life choices or thoughts...but never do anything that might place someone in danger of their life.

I wouldn't try using "facts" around here... it tends to scare people off

Coming from the fact king himself who did not know it is unlawful to carry a firearm and consume alcohol.
So the entire premise of your thread is pointless.

You packin' heat? You're indirectly endangering someone's life just having the potential of using that firearm. Whether intentional or not, whether you're protecting your life or possessions, if you pull that trigger you're still ending another human beings life. What's the difference?
Now let's start the "definition of life" argument when it comes to abortion. That's always a fun one.
