Lol thanks.
Right now, my wife hasn't worked much at all since the incident and I have been doing EVERYTHING and I can't really get everything that I want at the moment.
Who knew that so many bills came with age? I'm not going to push her to go out and have a job until next year or so. I was rushed to my work because of bills and I really wasn't ready at all and I suffered greatly. Her being a teacher, she will deal with kids all the time and I want her to be ready so until then I will work my butt off to make ends meet.
Bigger tank. (min 150g) and those fish are definitely on my wish list though.

Siptang, I just read your story. I really don't know what to say. Words cannot express my sympathy for you and your family. I can relate somewhat. In 2005, I lost my 18yr old nephew who had a heart transplant at 14, to organ rejection. They said he was lucky that he got 4yrs out of it. Then, in 2006 I lost my mother. In 2007, my sister in law. Then sadly in 2008, my niece died from liver failure and she was only 15, they don't know what caused it. All of them were fast. They were here one day and gone the next. My tanks have been a way to escape the world, along with long books lol. The truth is, my husband was and still is my rock. Without him, I dont think I could have gotten through it all. I never told anyone on here about these losses, because it is just so hard to talk about it. I commend you for putting it out there. You and your family are in my prayers. :)

Wow, I'm sorry for all your losses too. It's hard to loose loved ones. I don't know what I would do without my wife! My tank(s) are also my escape from the world, I know what you mean. Both you and Siptang are in my prayers!!!

Ok, so I have had the scroll coral in QT for a couple weeks now. No new signs of any flatworms. I will give it another flatworm exit treatment, and then see. After that I think it should be ok to put it into the DT. Thoughts? It is starting to fade under the t-5's, so I really need to do something. opinions?

Yes, it was like a nightmare. My brother is the one who lost 2 of his children. I constantly worry about his other two. So far so good though. On a different note, I still can't get rid of this rust colored algae. It has spread to the rocks and sand. I dont think its cyano, it is more dust like. I thought it was diatoms from the new sand, per henry, and my description, but it is not going away. I wonder if this could be a form of dino? My mag 7 is throwing sand everywhere, and it is driving me crazy....LOL.

Here is a good article on Dino for you Luv

I still think with all of the sand and rock movement you have had in tank recently you are seeing a diatom bloom. I wish Bang would chime in here, I have sent him a PM to scope it out an put in his best too.

Great article.....I think I may have a mild case of dino in the 28G cube....not 100% sure.....I am going to check my ph tonight and see where I am at.....

Thanks Henry. Good read. It most definitely was dino on a couple rocks that I took out and used peroxide on. It has not reappeared on these rocks. Some of the algae I have now that is on the back glass does have air bubbles in it. And yes, some of my snails are acting wierd. Making me wonder if it is dino trying to take a hold. If it is, what about dosing the whole tank with peroxide. I have read that some people have done it.

Boy you are doing a lot chemical dosing recently. Be very careful. Here is a good read on peroxide dosing for you.
Go to the first link.

I haven't dosed anything yet lol. I have been doing massive water changes, skimming like a fiend, and changed all filter media to chemipure elite. My chaeto is growing like crazy, and i have to prune it today. I cut back on my feedings and a couple hours of light. I have vaccumed the substrate in the front of the tank, this helps for about a day, and it comes back. I added more flow. Now, i am at my wits end. Dino took over my 75 in the end, and it is a battle I dont want to have in my 180. That is why I bleached all the rock from the 75 before using it again. But if peroxide works, i might have to try it.. Thanks you for the articles. :)

I thought for some reason you were using algaefix and chemiclean? Must be my old age creeping in again.

I only had to dose the algaefix 3 times to get rid of the hairy mat I had on my sand. It can be dosed weekly or monthly, and i havent added anymore. Because that algae is gone. I dosed once with chemiclean and it didnt help. Since then, I have done about a total of 50% water change, and all the other stuff I stated earlier. I thought it might of been nutrients, etc either from my feedings or the dead algae releasing phos, etc. But it hasnt helped. Just tested my Ph. It is 8.0. Will add buffer although the chemipure elite might affect my attempts to raise it.

I believe it to be Diatoms as well.

Oh, hey meowzer, I bought some of that h2o life algae sheets for my tangs. I thought I read somewhere that you buy it too. Guess what? They won't touch it! And neither will my flame angel. Go figure LOL. I even put a small piece in between the usual kind and they leave it!!! LOL. Wierd..

Well, who knew that the baby gbta could be such a pig.
LOL. I should of taken a pic. I have been feeding him weekly since I got him. He was originally under t-5's, and I hope that he will color up more under my metal halides. I gave both my anemones some fresh scallop, and I think I made the the baby gbta's day. He's all puffed up. I really hope he colors up and the clowns take notice of him. That is the reason i bought it. They seem to ignore the LTA, but I have seen my chromis swimming in it. So I thought they needed a different one lol. He is so small though, another reason to feed him.

Ok guys, need opinions about this scroll coral business. Should one more dose of flatworm exit in the QT do it? I haven't seen anymore of them since day one. I look everyday with a mag. glass for any babies, and I don't find any. I did do a interceptor bath yesterday, and am glad i did. Found a small mean looking crab with very sharp pinchers. Glad I avoided putting it into the DT. Has anyone had to QT and treat a new coral for flatworms? When will it be safe. I read 15 days for any eggs to hatch, and I am past that now. Need info people LOL.

Ok, Henry and Bag Guy, this is definitely not diatoms. For three days, I have done nothing except watch this stuff grow to include bubbles, and height. Looks to me like dino. Some of the places on the rock look like rust snot with air bubbles. My snails are not moving, just staying on the sand or glass. Bad sign. This is my analysis of the situation. After taking away any competing algae, the dino was allowed to take over with only the chaeto as competition. Solution: No water changes, siphon, siphon and siphon, cut back lights and feedings, cont my uv sterilizer, and if all else fails, I will remove rock to do a peroxide dip. My research on the peroxide has shown that it is ok to add peroxide into the dt, but in small amts. There is a formula. But it is risky due to the fact that most corals do not tolerate it esp. sps. I did learn that injecting aptasia in the center, with 3% h. peroxide will kill them. lol. So, that is the plan. We will see how it goes. Dino's are hard to get rid of once they take ahold. So.....not happy at the moment...:(
