I would really like to add some dwarf blue legged hermits to this set up too. I never had problems with them in the past, but I also never had nass. and cer. snails in with them either. Opinions?

A while back I got rid of all my hermits :( mainly They were getting really big, and I thought eating all my snails
well I noticed some algae creeping up, and decided to try some dwarfs again.....and they do a great job at nooks and crannies in the rocks...YES, I think they may make a snack of a snail or 2, BUT....when I place orders, I just add a few snails here and there
SOOOO IMO a few hermits are beneficial

I agree. I thought about 15. I have extra shells, but I will order more too. I wonder if I can request that swf.com send my snails and stuff in water this time? I had too many dead ones last time??

Well, all the center portion of sand is now out. I had to move a lot of rock around to get it all. Now its time to add the new. Goodness, I got my back hurting now lol. Oh, and I really really made the clowns mad when messing around the anemone, I would suction out the sand and they would flip more at me.

Lol I have like 15 in my 72. Along with my 20 snails. I think snail population will go down though.

They are helpful. OK, with the help of a couple motrins, and a dr pepper,
, 40lbs of sand is in the tank. Just in time for lights out lol. I sure hope this helps, and isn't just a waste of time, money, and my back!!!

Thanks Sip! Well, just got back from the lfs. I went for dwarf blue legged hermits and they were not sure they had any, but ended up finding five. BUT after I got home and started acclimating them, one big one is a red hermit. SO, big red, haha, went into the 10g nano. That leaves me only 4 blue legged for now to put into the 180. Seth, I guess you'll like that number lol.

Put the extra chaeto in the refugium, and added the tisbe reef pods (bought them for heli, my mandarin). I am impressed at how clean this chaeto is. I don't see any pods, debris, etc. Nice, green, healthy looking and ready to eat all the nitrates in this tank!!!

Luv - next time, you need chaeto let me know. I will ship you some and I will even pay the shipping for you. ;) That way I can have a say and tell you not to tare down the tank lol.

LOL. I appreciate that. I only needed a little bit. It normally grows like weeds for me. I can't believe I had to actually buy some lol. I would trim mine weekly before. Anyway, my hubby is to blame about this tank still existing. I am still not convinced that it shouldn't be torn down, but time will tell. I am testing my nitrates right now and gonna see if another water change is in order. This is the stuff I didn't want to do anymore. (It is a lot of extra work for me alone to do)

No. I need to add another mag pump to be able to get the water to the tank. But once I get that, then yes water changes will become easier!

If this tank survives this, I would really like to add some new colorful corals, I am sick of seeing the same stuff/colors. However, I am gonna set up a very strict qt procedure and tank. No way will I let this happen again! Once the 20g nano is up and running, I will turn the current 10g into a frag/qt tank. I have all the extra stuff too. It sucks that I had this going on and didn't make it to the swap!!

Sip, maybe you can help me out. I can't find any plain nori sheets for my tangs. Think you can find some to send me? I'll pay for it!!
