Yesterday, the lfs did not have any Kalkwasser at all. I am gonna have to order it online. They used to carry the kent brand so that is what I was gonna go with, but now my options are open. Is there a different kind that is better to use? I will place an order for it today. Just need some input.

I dont use it myself.... but i hear the BRS kalk is good????

Can't speak for the BRS kalk, but I do use their GFO and I'm happy with it.
I do have some pickling lime I can send you if you want....

Have you checked your local grocery stores? My local Publix sells it next to their sushi section. I realize a lot of grocery stores don't have "sushi sections," but most do have an asian isle where you can also find it.

Thanks guys, I will check out the BRS kalk. I know you can use pick. lime, but I just thought it would be easier to buy a known brand that does good. I am a newb to dosing anything!! As far as the Nori, I will have to call all the local grocery stores and check. The one I went to yesterday didn't carry it at all. My yellow tang looks like he could use some variety v/s the same old dry algae sheets and frozen food.

Luv - I can go to oriental grocery store on Tuesday when I'm off for you. Let me know if you still need some you can find them easy there or in publix.
If you go there show the people there this.

Oh, and to update on the dinos. When I changed out the sand in the center section, I had to remove a lot of the rock to get it out so I ended up scrubbing the piece that would sprout tiny little dino blobs. Well, the last section will probably be the same, and I have one problem rock on it as well. I think I can remove it easy enough. I thought about soaking it in a 50/50 peroxide solution for about 5-10 minutes after I scrub it off. Other than that, I only have the dark algae on the remaining sand and on small areas on rocks, and if it is dinos, I will scream loud enough for Meowzer to hear me at her house lol. Also, I might do a water change today, I have another 20g made up and ready.

Does anyone else have a problem with their yellow tangs acting like a fish on speed? Mine has the whole tank in "fear mode" a lot of the time. He constantly flips around stuff, acts like he's attacking his shadow, or me,or the sailfin tang,etc. He is like the mad hatter. I feel like I need to sedate him lol. Geesh!!!

I've heard that about yellow tangs. One of the reasons I won't keep one.

Yea. My hubby had to have one in there. My metal halides need to be changed soon, and I really wanted to go with a 20k bulb this time instead of the phoenix 14k. There are only a couple offered in the 250watt double ended range. What is the general opinion of the reeflux and the megachrome blue bulbs?? Besides the high price of course lol.

I dont know sip. I might have to try them. And yeah, I like the look of 20K. I just got done with a water change, rock siphon, and scrubbed the above mentioned problem rock after I sprayed it with peroxide lol. I broke my ugly pink birdsnest in half. Oh well, it now has a new home higher up and I have a spot for something pretty for the front and center on the right cave! The orangish algae is still on the rocks in places. I will add more cuc this week. More crabs, and more snails. Maybe a fighting conch.
