do those sponges work? for ur fuge? thought sponges didnt work
you talkin about the black sponges that are hanging on the baffle after the fuge? they help catch extra crap and keep most of the chaeto from going into the DT's and eliminate bubbles from the water going over that baffle.

does that orange sponge on the right filter out more? my tank blows out bubbles but i dont understand it all none of my tubing is sticking out n the air everything is underneath water

idk if it filters out more but the black sponges and the orange sponge both trap alot of crap. the orange one is smaller holes or however you say it so it catches the big stuff comin straight from the drain pipes. your probably having bubbles because of the air that is in the tube is coming out under water, do you have a pad or anything under your drain pipe or it is just under water and flows over a baffle?

i have a biocube and the powerhead in the 3rd chamber sits in the water and it had a tube thats about 10 inches thats travels up that blows the water into the tank itself. but the tubing and the power stay underwater 24/7

On the right side of sump/fuge pic...where the egg crate is??
ohhh, the egg crate is a stand for that orange sponge to sit on, then in the egg crate is my bioballs which I'm thinking about taking out and filling that section up with liverock rubble... any suggestions with that? you took your bio balls out of your sump to make more fuge room right?

hmm not sure? maybe your powerhead is too close to the surface which I think causes them to blow bubbles? there has to be air getting in your pump somehow for it to be blowing out bubbles

Yes, But my protein skimmer is in a compartment on the left...refuge is in the center...rp is in a compartment on the right
Do you have water in that section on the right? Is there any way you can put your return pump in that section??

ohh gotchya. I do have water in that section but that is my drainage section that overflows into the fuge. I'd have to replumb the hole system if I had to moe the RP. I guess ill just see if this filter sock does the trick and if i still have some, im gonna use your egg crate idea and zip tie a filter pad onto it and put it between the skimmer and RP.

lol my baddd, I guess I've been reading too many of your posts

I'll rephrase it though, If you have your powerheads anything 2 inches or less from your water surface, it will cause the powerheads to blow bubbles... IF I am wrong then please correct me.
that better ?

I had them in there like 2 days..lol..then I started taking them out, and to tell you the truth..that was a real pain in the ....I could not imagine having to take those things out periodically to rinse them....The biol-balls I had fill up one of those BIG Instant Ocean salt tubs....there were hundreds of them

did you remove your bioballs while your tank was established with them or did you remove them before you even set up the tank?

You are asking about my sump/fuge right???
Cause I had my 225g running 7 months before I got this sump.
