I had them in there like 2 days..lol..then I started taking them out, and to tell you the truth..that was a real pain in the ....I could not imagine having to take those things out periodically to rinse them....The biol-balls I had fill up one of those BIG Instant Ocean salt tubs....there were hundreds of them

yeah that's why im thinking about replacing them with LR rubble, they are under the stand so that would be a PITA to take that apart everytime and it catches alot of stuff too which makes me have to rinse them off more often which I never have down nor do I know how to do... you know any threads off hand that explains how to do it or downs anyone wanna give some input if I should remove them for lr and if so how?

You can most certainly replace the Bio Balls for LR. But I don't think you will be getting too much farther ahead. The LR will catch things just as well as the Bio Balls.
However, if this is what you wish to do. The only thing is to be careful of is removing to many at one time. Probably a handful or two a week. If possible, I would put the intended LR in the display or sump to get established/cured first. Then start the slow removal of the Bio Balls. Once that is done throw the rock in that area.

do i need to replace them though at all or will the fuge be enough to take the bio balls out and be ok?

I went back and looked at your pics again. I see you already have LR in there. So I would say yes. Pull them out slowly and you are good to go. No worries.

Well that would work. I was in reference to two handfulls every week. Like when you do your water change.

So since it seems you have 20 lbs of reef stuff stuffed into a 5 lb bag is it possible that you could somehow make the skimmer pipe that returns the water extended to reach over to the fuge area? The the bubbles from it would enter the fuge and no bubbles would be sucked up by the return pump. Know what I mean?

oh alrighty understood, 2 handfuls a week. doing it slowly will make sure that nothing spikes or anything? my fuge will be able to support what the bio balls do after they are removed?

That just means you have a lot of stuff crammed into the chamber where the pump and the skimmer are and no room to make baffles that are a normal part of engineering to get rid of the bubbles. The saying is usually 5 lbs. of poop in a 1 lb. bag.

1 1/2 inch elbow is too big, its a 1 inch tube but I tried a 1 inch elbow and it didnt fit over it, it just equaled up to it.

Oh of course, nothing in the darn hobby is easy is it! Maybe you'll have to get pc. of hose and a zip tie. IDK
Can you switch position of the pump and the skimmer so the output pipe is close and empties into the fuge?

can't switch the RP and the skimmer but I can turn my skimmer around so the output is closer to the fuge and then just rig something to the output pipe so it goes into my fuge, will that restrict too much flow or it won't back it up at all?
