a little bit of all of it.
I feed mostly flake food so my fish don't grow quickly. Though, some people will disagree with this practice. I do a lot of unorthodox things. lol
If you really want to grow your fish and keep them happy and healthy, feed a variety of commercial grade frozen AND enriched foods and home made foods.
I think making your own home made foods will actually last longer in the long run. Plus, you can customize your protein to crude fat to algae ratios.

got a second filter today, its 200 GPH, im gunna use it to put chaeto and some crushed live rock in it. any other suggestions as to what to put in it? also i ordered a new power head today as well. that one is 450PHG so in total i think i have about 1000 GPH of filtration and water flow.

UPDATES!
The feather duster has already started to grow new feathers! so it looks like he is going to make it after all!
I got a cleaner shrimp today, and a kenya tree. I couldnt pass up the kenya tree.. it was only $20 and pretty good size. i got some frozen brine for the shrimp and some phytoplankton for the duster. also got some chaeto for the second filter. so the new filter is full of crushed live rock and a handful of chaeto algae. now all i need is a couple pretty little clown fish.

well after turning the lights on this morning, i did so tank watching! I have an AMAZING mini brittle star fish! its about an inch a half from one tip to another, so its not really that small. probably the coolest hitchhiker i have ever had. i moved the feather duster more to the middle of the tank. i think once it has grown out its feathers again it will look great! the Kenya tree is looking pretty happy as well, and the cleaner shrimp has already molted last night.

pics coming in about an hour

hey bang, whats the best thing to keep the rocks clean? there is a green tint to the tops of my rock work.. im getting a turkey baster today to help blow off the rocks, but i need something (invert?) that will eat and clean the rocks really well..

Rocks tend to turn green before purple. If its calcerous green algaes, not much if anything will eat it. Succulent algaes are readily preyed upon by Astrea snails. Keep things stable and you'll see some coralline start to grow.

okay thanks snake, i guess im just hoping for it to look beautiful from the start. i guess i just need to be patient. and im going to do my best to not introdice hair algae into the tank! i battled hair algae in my 5 gallon and i refuse to let that happen again.

i got a couple hitch hiker zoas as well, im not sure what they are but they have a super bright green center. my question is this.. they are attached right under the kenya tree on the same frag base thing. are they going to harm the kenya tree? what can i do to possible frage them and put them on their own rock?

They will not hurt the Kenya.
If you want to frag them off I suggest - using gloves!! - Take the rock out of the water - I use an old chisel to take away some of the rock under the Zoas - Superglue the rock fragment to another rock. Consider everything that the Zoanthids slime up as toxic material. Keep it away from pets, your hands, your tank, everything. Even the water you use to wash away the excess slime should be considered toxic.
