^^^this is what it looked like when i got home. ^^^
the feather duster and everyone else in the tank are perfectly happy.

also i checked my water parameters and everything is good as far as that goes. so whats wrong?!?!?!? could the aiptasia be stinging it? i havnt gotten a chance to try and get rid of them yet....

not much, its right under my powerhead so it gets a little current but not a lot. should it be getting more? sorry for all the questions, i should really just do my own research.

so the mandarin dragonet died last night? i have no idea why. he wasnt showing any signs of acting weird or sick. i woke up today. and he was upside down and stiff as a log. not skinny, i still see copepods running around the tank. the water levels are the same as the last time i tested. the feather duster looks great. the kenya tree is happy again as well. and the cleaner shrimp molted last night as well. any ideas as to why he died?

Not sure how it wasn't ready. I can't do much else to get the tank ready. It's been up for almost 3 months now. All levels are where they should be. What else is there

Im thinking Gemmy meant that it wasnt ready for a mandarin yet.. even though you have copepods and such its still fairly new and maybe just that fact was a detrimental fact?

Hi Patrick, sometimes new fish were doomed before we bring them home and sometimes the conditions in our tank are what dooms them to an early demise. Most hobbiests experience both eventually. Our job is to do our best to ensure the former situation is minimized from buying only healthy specimens and the latter is minimized due to our experience as mature hobbiests. Something we cannot help you with at this time is telling you which scenario you are now experiencing.
Dragonets are typically hardy once acclimated but prone to starvation. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

yea you're right. i think im just frustrated. i feel like there is a lot of things that can happen and go unexplained. Its hard to fix something if you dont know what went wrong. Everything else in the tank looks great tho! So im just gunna go slow from here. do regular water changes. more research and just try and learn more in general. thanks guys. I am now trying to figure out what my next fish will be. Im not sure i want 2 clown fish. After seeing several of them come and go at my lfs and 100% of them having ich i just dont want to buy one from them. or any other fish for that matter.

Thanks! Took me forever to get the rocks to stay like that. I'd like to add another 5 lbs or so to it. The Kenya tree looks better than it ever has. I hope this is a permanent thing!
