Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like everything is coming along nicely. I don't have real specific info on that starfish. Just that it is a common small one and a detrivore.

hhrrmmm they dont have any of my picks..
orange lined cardinals,
possum wrasses,
they do have the hectors goby or a green clown goby...
( i really like the hectors and rainsford gobys because they are active swimmers )

any other suggestions? i like the hectors goby and the green clown goby as well. i mostly just want my tank to look different from every other nano out there. and i know a lot of nano tanks have the iconic clown fish pair. i was also looking at a purple fire fish, any suggestion as to what would go well with one of those?

Actice swimmers are not compatible with nano tanks in my opinion.
To be honest i didnt even think about what exactly i was asking. that makes sense bang. and i understand what you mean. so let me change it up a little bit. i dont want a fish that i going to hide behind the rocks all day long. the mandaran was in the rocks everytime you looked at the tank so it was hard to really get to enjoy it. so i would really like a fish that will atleast be out in the open and not hidden most of the time

would i be able to keep a clam with the lighting i have? also are there any star fish that would be able to thrive in such a small tank?

its hard to see but right in the middle of the picture on the rock. there is something that pretty much looks like a snail out of its shell. anyone want to id it for me?
just some new tank shots. my new stuff will be here tomorrow

^^^just a pic of the 2 filters and the top of the tank. the left one has chaeto in it and the right one has crushed live rock and filter media. hopefully soon ill be able to take a pic of a skimmer as will. but for now this is what ive got!

whats the best salt to use, for corals? im looking online i know the salt i have doesnt have a lot of extra trace elements or calcium or anything. so as im starting to add to my coral collection i would like to make sure the water is where it needs to be.

What salt are you using now?
There are a few good salts out there and what works for one person might not work for the best. One of the biggest things that I can recommend is finding a salt that is going to be readily available to you. For example, I swear by AquaVitro Salinity, but it can not be ordered online, so unless you know your LFS always has it in stock, or can quickly get it in stock, don't even attempt this salt.

Im using instant ocean sea salt. Probably not real great stuff. I don't mind ordering online. My lfs is terrible. I'll just order enough to last atleast a month or more. And then just order more. I just want to make sure my corals are going to thrive. I know my lighting is strong enough for the majority of the corals I want. I just want a tank that looks like all the other great tanks on here.
