Looks great Patrick.....I think everything you got today is a winner YAYYYYYY
the ric rock should be good.....and I love the new monti
I have no clue about the star, BUT,........when in doubt.....throw it out....LOL....or put it in a sump if you have one
thanks meowzer! good to hear! i was very worried about pretty much everything! i hope my tank is ready and can keep everything healthy!
i love rics and all the different colors they have! will it be a problem if they are touching each other?... and me too!! i have wanted a monti for a while now, and idk if my tank is really ready for sps but we will see, it was only $15 so not to big of a deal if it doesnt do okay. i would love to see it grow like crazy tho! im working on getting some better salt to help my water conditions for the new corals.
good point on the star, next time i see it ill grab him, unfortunately i dont have a sump to put it in.

NO, they can touch each other,......I have rainbow, orange and green on the same rock...and I have blue too on another rock
The rainbows seem to be the big growers though as they cover the rock, and I only have 2 orange and 2 small greens....LOL....

couple of pics from today after being gone from 12 yesterday to about 1 today. everything is looking great. the feather duster has been the most amazing transformation in the tank. it has tripled in size in about 2 weeks. the frogspawn is almost double the size it was just yesterday before we left!
and got a nice surprise with some extra zoas on the neon zoa frag i got in the mail!

the rainbow ric has opened up quite a bit as well. i can really see where it is going to split

i have actually had 3 saltwater tanks before this one. has been a while between this and my last one tho. trust me i have been addicted for quite a while now! i just had forgotten a lot of stuff. im glad i am back into it tho! Yes the monti seems to be a crowd pleaser, my gf and my mom both love it. it does bring a lot of color to the tank. i think im more happy with the clowns than anything else. i forgot how much fun they are to watch. they swim unlike a lot of other fish and are really entertaining.
thanks for the compliments, hopefully eventually this tank will be able to hang with the rest of the greats on the forums.

yea i know bang, they are both pretty small tho. and to be honest i dont think they will be in the tank for longer than 6 months tops. I just joined active duty in the Army and i will be going to basic in the next 3-6 months.

any chance they will host the frogspawn?
None.
However there is a better than even chance that the Frogspawn may host the Clownfish.

Wow, that's big. Thank you for volunteering! My niece just recently joined the Marines. She'll be graduating boot camp next month.

haha okay i got it backwards but cool i hope they take interest in the frogspawn!
yea i have been going back and forth about it for a while now but I have become pretty excited about it actually. thats very cool, she is very brave. i was pretty close to going into the marines myself but the army offered me a little more flexibility. (we will see how long that lasts lol)
do you know where she did her bootcamp at?
Snake: i can only hope that is the case! haha i am not sure how likely it is but we will see!

so i have been looking on RC a lot lately and everyone seems to be adding coral and fish to their tanks before the cycle has either started or ended. and it doesnt seem like anyone over there has anything to say about it. what gives?
