What a difference a few hours makes. I put him in the QT around 6pm. As of 10pm, he's been a little more obviously active, and I've actually SEEN him eat....cyclops and live brine. If I was to assign human conditions to him, I'd say he was a sick patient who needs rest and food to recover from his injuries and get strength back. Rest wasn't an issue (I think), since I never saw the other fish picking on him. But I don't think he was getting any food, or very little anyway. This way he has plenty of time to relax, pick food from the bottom of the tank, and recuperate.
Definitely not out of the woods. Like I said, I'm almost 100% sure this was the Rocket Man who launched himself, so it wouldn't shock me to learn he had internal injuries. But the slight increase in activity, coupled with the food intake, makes me feel a whole lot better for him.

I saw a couple possible white spots on the mystery wrasse. Not sure if it's small bits of sand or the "I" word...but no chances are being taken. Hypo starts TODAY.
First time I've ever performed hypo treatment. Last time I had this set up I only ever QT'd with chemical ich killer....malachite green or some such.

Better safe then sorry. I have done hypo a few times. You can lower it in a couple of days, but you need to bring it up slower. But I am sure you know that. I hope it is just a precaution.
I have never used the chemical treatment, so not much help there. Good luck with the hypo.

Uhm...... not to throw a wrench in your thought process, but shouldn't you altleast confirm whether or not itis actually what you assume it might be? Just thinking outload first.
You have alot of stuff in that QT to remove and place elsewhere on a huntch

Actually the Mystery is in a QT by himself. Right now my QT stats are:
20g: 1 Dispar + 1 Bartlett's Anthias
12g: 1 Mystery Wrasse
10g: 1 Bartlett's Anthias
The 20g has sand and macroalgae in it, along with a single sad acan polyp and a few zoas.
As for the spots.....well, I haven't seen any new ones but that's besides the point. There is a definite white spot directly on the lateral line on his flank, and a white-ish spot on a fin.

I apologize, I was under the assumption that you had sand, maco and rock in this QT. Thats what I was referring too.
I will send you a pm in the A.M. along with a strong mug of caffeine, and tylenol. Lol

LOL I know the feeling. I threw my back out on Monday so I've been in and out of it for the past couple days. Lortab is a hell of a drug.

Wow, yeah, I can't afford to throw my back out. heh. I have to be extra cautious when moving furniture and deer heads.

See, I can't do that. I have to be dying to take anything with codeine or codeine derivatives. Sure, it works, but it also REALLY messes with my personality. And it doesn't take much in my system before people can notice a change. Last time I had to take it to manage tooth pain, I was on it for 3 days, every 8 hours. By the third day I was suspecting Michelle of cheating on me.
Yes, seriously.
For whatever freaky reason, hydrocodone amplifies negative emotions for me. Imagine an endless well of vitriolic hatred...it's a good idea for how I feel when I'm on a steady dose. Someone may cut you off in traffic, and you'll mumble "that stupid grblfarberrassin....." and get on with your life. Someone cuts me off when I've taken a few doses of lortab or vicodin, and Michelle is holding the wheel, trying to keep me from running the guy off the road. I am very literally not the same person, and quite frankly that Other Guy is a terrible person to be around.
So, I don't take it. Unless I absolutely have to. I was in so much pain on Tuesday morning that I literally had to crawl to the bathroom...it took me 30 minutes to stand up. I decided that I'd do one lortab on Tuesday am, and one on Wednesday am....but any other breakthrough pain was treated with Naproxen. It worked, and I only had a few angry moments to deal with.
So, there ya go.....more about my personality than you EVER wanted to know! LOL.
Back to the tank. Fish are all still in QT. I'm beginning to wonder if that one Bartlett's Anthias is ever going to be 100% again. I have some suspicions that he may be blind...or at least has some serious vision problems. He likes to find a quiet corner of the tank to press up against where he can feel something solid on both of his flanks. He doesn't respond to sudden stimulus such as a hand waving against the glass. He eats.....but the food has to be in the water for a minute before he notices it, and then he acts as though he smells it first. I think he can see a little -- he does hunt food close to his face -- but like I said, I don't think he can see well.
He may be doomed if I put him in the big tank. Then again, he may turn around and be right as rain. He's been in solitary for just a few days now, so hopefully he'll come around in the next 2 weeks.

On this site....You shall now be known by me as the fish whisperer....all kidding aside, when it comes to fish you seem very intuitive....if ever the fish had a hope, it's belonging in your care. I now understand how you managed to keep your wild seahorse alive when others would fail.
I can't take any narcotics, it makes me sick to my stomach (details I won't go into...your welcome)...I get mean on cold medicines, Dan called a person who gets mean on meds.... putting on a gorilla suit. You are not alone.

I, myself, am a control freak and do not like to be on meds, lol
After surgery I took 1 pain pill and then stuck to regular old tylenol or ibuprofen :)
Isnt it just crazy how one fish can be normal and the other crazy... hhrrmmm kinda like people from the same family, lol

BAHAHAHA! Well I wish I could whisper my cyano bloom away, or whisper to the fish "stop acting like a tard..."
Putting on the gorilla suit. I like that.

Minor update. Looks like I might be able to order the second LED fixture this week. I wasn't expecting to be able to so soon, but a few planets are aligning sooner than expected, LOL. So I have a choice: Do I go for my second LED, or finally get a RODI? My heart says LED, but my back is saying RODI!!

So......I came home today with crabs!
Stopped by the store today to pick up a dozen blue-leg hermits and an even dozen atlantic grazers. I will probably get a few more crabs in the future (12 crabs get LOST in 110g of tank space!) but I doubt I will get any more atlantic grazers. These guys are pretty hardy, grow quickly, and (since I already had 3) I doubt I'll need more than 15 for the whole tank.
They didn't have any nassarius or turbo snails, so I'll have to wait for those to come in. I could definitely use some Nass. snails about now.

Some random shots from today:

I was also faced with a serious temptation today. Wife looked at me with those big eyes (Husbands: you know what I'm talking about) and said "Can we please put the anthias in the tank today??" I couldn't recall when I got them, so I went back on the thread here to see how long they've been in QT.
2 weeks, 1 day. CRAP.
I didn't break weak. They're still in QT. I'm afraid the wrasse is going to be in QT for a while; I don't know if he has ich or what, but the two spots I mentioned are still there. I've almost reached Hypo levels in that tank..one more day and I should be there.
