WOOHOO!!!
And it only took 29 pages! lol j/k j/k
You know we expect pictures soon.

Watchoo talkin' about?? There has been coral in this tank for almost three weeks....WAAAAY back on page 25!
To date, I have a frogspawn frag, a hammer frag, a large-ish piece of Kenya from the seahorse tank, a small Kenya nub also from the horse tank, and of course the rose coral that came in on the single piece of true Live Rock I bought.
I really want to get a nice piece of Monti cap, and a pink pocillopora ....might be able to later this week. Siptang mentioned he had a decent sized piece of Pocil. available, but he's been off the grid for a few weeks...hope he's OK!!
I'm holding off all pics until the Anthias are in the tank. Probably next weekend, maybe a couple days prior.

Rick, your tank is looking awesome and your mystery looks amazing. I always wanted one but they tend to chomp down on the shrimps amd that's a big no no in Mrs ' s book so couldn't have one..
Well I'm sorta back after my little hiatus but my pocillopora is done for. I went to cruise and my anenome decided to kill it.
However I have a buddy who will get you one for 10 bucks.
I can get you a decent size red cap, ling sy(?) Purple cap for 10 or 15 each.
Let me know and we will hook up.
Im usually off on tuesday and thursday except this upcoming week also my buddy does whole sale sso you can order fish from him as well. You will see a huge price difference.
If you are interested, pm me and I will send you his phone # and I will go with you to meet him.
Oh btw, I have a chaeto filled with pods with your name on it lol.

Always interested, and I'd love to come down and meet you and Mrs. Sip. Let's see how my budget looks after the next payday (still reeling form a 2K hit to savings, OUCH) and I'll keep my "allowance" as cash instead of depositing it into a CC. Heh......
Speaking of money. Yes, I took a hit. No, the lathe isn't sold yet. BUT....yes, I ordered the light anyway. I figured, "who needs food, anyway?"

Light should be here by this coming Monday. I'm out of town this Saturday, but G*d willing I might be able to unload that lathe before then.

Whew... 2k is steep... I pray that you guys will be replenished and soon. This hobby is draining.. I worked over time this week and thought I had some money but no, my cousin has to have 2 new lyretail anthias and mandrin like me. After ordering those three fish, replacing poster pictures of my family (oher ones had my son in them and it made my wife sad and me depressed but heart breaking to replace them) now I have no spending money as well sigh..
I was hoping to add one more wrasse in my tank. Recently got a male mccosker ' s wrasse and a carpenter wrasse.
I guess I should be greatful that he didn't say purple tang lmbo.

If it were me...I wouldn't throw the posters away. Tuck them away. Don't look at them. Don't think about them. Heal....as best you can....but one day you may be faced with a wife who wants to see those shots again. She probably won't want them displayed, but she may want to take them out and look at his face, just to help remember all the wonderful times you had with him. But then, that's just me. There are as many pathways to healing as there are people in the world, and we all have to pick our own direction. My prayers to you two have always been simple: that the roads you chose to follow from that day always lead upwards, if ever so slowly.
I had a male McCosker's in my last setup. He was a great little fish, but an accomplished overflow-hurdler. I found him in the 'flow three times over the course of a couple years. I need to put some kind of angled screen across the overflow before I introduce the wrasses this time. Shilly Sits that they are.
Speaking of which....one of my LFS's is supposed to be getting a shipment of African Leopard Wrasses in this afternoon. Hoping I might be able to get one in....

Rick - yea, I already put aside the posters, I couldn't bare to throw it away and you are right. we will be able to look at it later without hurting this much and look back and reminisce..
and thanks for the prayers, God knows we need them.
I have my over flow covered with netting which is also covered with bit of algae (I clean it once a month i know i know lol) so no way he can jump down there. ou
I have a buddy who qts my fish for me this is much easier for me because of my lack of time at home. He gets it from the whole sales, qts it for couple of weeks, get it to eat everything and I take it off his hands after inspection. My mandarin eats pellets and so does my fathers.
I will send you his number by pm.
Seth - pics coming very soon.

Anthias are in the tank! The Blue Reef Chromis was a little nonplussed at the new additions....guess he has to realize he's not the 1-inch king of the 110g tank.

And...since the QT was empty.....I decided to give it a quick cleaning and fill it with this:

Thanks!
I'm taking a tank-cleaning break right now. Seahorse tank was due for it's 30% WC, and I'm doing some deep-cleaning chores this time as well. I found a little red ricordea that had been overgrown by the massive toadstool, so I managed to cut it off the column (it was attached to foam) and I'm going to transfer it to the big tank.
The floating fish is of course a female African Leopard Wrasse. She's a little stressed right now so she's showing her stripes, but I hope she'll settle down soon. She's chilling out in the 20g by herself with the lights out right now.
The current fish population is:
2 Bartlett's Anthias
1 DIspar Anthias
1 Blue Reed Chromis
1 Mystery Wrasse (QT)
1 African Leopard Wrasse (QT)
The rest of the list will be:
1 or 2 Green Mandarins
1 Midas Blenny (possible, undecided)
1 Tiger Goby
1 Potter's Angel
1 Powder Blue.
I'm very up in the air about the Midas Blenny. What do you think.....1 Midas blenny or a trio of Barnacle Blennies?? Also, I may try to transfer the female Mandarin from the horse tank today since I'm doing that water change. The next fish on the purchase list should probably be the goby, since the sand is kind of grey and needs something to sift it out. The Potter's will go in after that, followed by whatever blenny I choose. The Queen of the Tank will be the last fish added, so as to prevent any scuffles (I hope!)

Hmmm...OK, so after spending 30 minutes trying to catch the female Mandarin, I have decided that she will stay in the seahorse tank instead.
That's a lie.
SHE decided it, after easily evading the net for thirty minutes while gliding by the tank face, smiling and giving me the middle fin-ray every time I tried to herd her into the net. Little B**ch. And I was going to buy her a boyfriend and everything.

That ungrateful little ****.
The wrasse looks great. As for the blennies, wouldn't the barnacle blennies get lost in that big of a tank?

That's a valid point...and one I'm not sure I can answer. On the one hand, they should populate the barnacle stands which are pretty much front-and-center, but on the other hand....yeah, they're very small.
On the third hand (and I've got more where this one came from!), it sort of appeals to me to have some life that's not immediately obvious in the tank. Just like on a regular reef, there should be things in our tanks that are only observed if you sit quietly and look beyond the big picture. Some of the best times I had in Hawaii were when I was floating inches away from a shallow coral stand, watching all the symbiotic and commensal relationships of the tiny fish and invertebrates weaving in and out of the coral heads. It felt like the longer I floated in the same spot, the more I could learn. I feel like I should try and replicate that in some way in my home aquarium as well. To some degree, my goal here is to have something
interesting to look at, no matter where your eye wanders in the tank.

Crappy, spotty video of the African Leopard Wrasse. But it was the only way I could really get any clear images of her...she seems to know when the camera is on her.

Rick, we may have to push to next Thursday as one of the frags got cancelled on me.
Unless, you feel like coming to get some chaeto and red cap and holidays greeting cap. :)
I also have a purple cap frag that I can give you for free. :) its only an 1 inch and a half but its something right? Lol.

Actually, I'm cool with coming down twice, if you can bear the sight of me more than once in a month! ;-)
My second LED fixture came in last night, so the tank is fully LED-lit now. I also rearranged the rockwork a little bit, so a new FTS should be coming up tonight after I charge my camera...the Cell phone does NOT like the LED spectrum, and everything looks....well, like this:
