Very nice additions. You know I love SPS corals... can't wait to see some growth shots. I'm ready to get my LEDs all done so that I can start adding my frags as well. It'll get there though. Glad to see I can vicariously live through someone else for the moment. lol

I got back from Sea World last night. It was a pretty nice trip; it was our B-day present to my mum-in-law, so we weren't really doing a whole lot of the things we USUALLY do (read: only one trip on the Manta coaster this time) But it was great to hang out, see the shows (which we NEVER do) and of course sit in front of the big live reef tank under the Manta coaster. That aquarium is really stunning, you could sit there for hours and not be bored. No pictures this time, but if you want to see what it looks like just search for "sea world" in the forums...I've posted pics before.
Only bummer.....my LFS had a potter's angel in stock on Friday (couldn't get there for it) but of course it's sold now. So I'm back to waiting. Oh well.
The Mystery wrasse is almost matched to go into the big tank. I just have to check pH and raise the salinity another 2 points or so. But I expect to have him situated by this evening.

Dagnabit. Michelle just said she changed her mind, and asked if we could have a clownfish in the display tank.

lol, you are probably the only person that doesn't have clown fish in their display Rick.
As you know, I have always had a few in all of my set ups. Any how, I got you several frags and no, you are not paying me any more money for them. I really just want to help out a fellow reefer and it's good to have friends in the same hobby Rick. :) Besides, money you gave me last time basically covered for all of it.
I have got ORA green bird nest frag. (it's bit small but it's really fast grower)
I broke off small piece of green digitara for you.
Xenia for your horse tank
punk rocker zoa polyps (those are awesome looking pieces)
Superman monti didn't come through yet sorry.
Any how, good to hear that your trip was good and I hope to see you soon buddy.

@Richard......you Rock. You know that, right? Let's get together when the Superman comes in and we'll go chill out with some cold stone. LOL you ought to appreciate this....Michelle saw the Sunburst Anthias online, and she wants one now. Heh.
SO.....I stopped by one of my LFS's today. Came back with a blue ricordea, and orange, and an orange mix for $30. Wife picked up a nice piece of coraline-encrusted LR that has 4 or 5 green shrooms on it, and more than a couple little tiny serpent stars (they're crawling around the bag right now. Everything is floating right now, I just need to grab the superglue and start planting the ric garden. They had some beautiful purple Lyretail Anthias in stock, but they were all males so I nixed that idea....IMO there should only be 1 male Anthias, regardless of species. They also had a very large male African Leopard Wrasse, but I don't want a fish that size in the tank just yet...he was at least 5 inches long.
With luck, I should have the angel by the end of the week, and I have Rob and Robin (two different stores!) looking out for a female African Leopard Wrasse.
Bit of more luck. Wife and I have compromised. There will be no clowns in my tank. There will, however, be a pair of snowflake clowns in the 20g tank after it finishes service as a QT. It is also getting a whole "fairyland" makeover and being turned into a girly fantasy tank. Which I have NO problems with, LOL.
Anyway. Stay tuned for pictures....I'm going to plant a garden, then transfer the Mystery Wrasse.

fat head anthias are one of my favorites lol. Ladies love it because it's pink but I love it because of it's unique lines over it's head and it's personality as with all anthias.
Also you are absolutely right, only one male anthias. I would recommend getting all females because the dominant one will turn into a male anyways and they are better shippers when they are females (I don't know how that works) and I think you and Michelle will go oooooh and aaaahhhh over the change lol.
Glad to hear the all of the new additions!

The Mystery Wrasse is in place. There were a few scuffles between the Mystery and the male Batlett's, but everyone has found their niche for now. I turned off the white lights to help a little with the acclimation.
Which also afforded me some time to take some actinic photos of the new corals. To wit:
The Ric garden grows...5 for now. Might be able to sneak another tomorrow.

Some green 'shrooms. This was a pretty good deal...a 2-3 lb piece of LR, covered in 6 'shrooms, and plenty of coraline for $40. Plus this rock was CRAWLING with live mysids....something I've honestly never seen personally as a hitchhiker....and a good number of micro serpent stars.

The Blue Ric.

Another closeup of one of the frogspawns. I keep posting these, but only because I love how they look under actinics.

I finally got a good shot of the rose coral with his tentacles really open. Look how different he looks compared to earlier shots when his feeders are tucked away. I get the feeling this guy is going to be an aggressive coral when it comes to territory disputes, so I'll keep him clear of other corals that come in.

I think you're just trying to justify you purchasing some green shrooms for nearly $10 each. LOL It's ok, I do the same thing.

LOL! Yeah, you need to come look at this. You'll love it - like an open brain, really. It's not something that can be collected and sold, so you only find them on aquacultured LR. Barrier Reef has them all the time, though, so they can't be THAT rare.
Ha! All I could think of when I saw this was the Bass-O-Matic!

OK there bucko, I'm going to use the power of MATH! It's a three pound rock. Let's call it premium-grade, since it's got all sorts of live coraline, critters, and it's fully cured. Premium LR around my area goes for 6 to 9 bucks a lb, but since it doesn't have any other encrusting gorgs or favites colonies, let's say this a $7.00/lb rock. So, $21.00 for the rock weight, which leaves $19 for the corals. $19.00 divided by 6 heads works out to....$3.17 per mushroom.
Rounded up, of course, because we never round down when it comes to cold hard cash.
Now let's tell the truth. You know and I know that I'm still just justifying the expense here.
At least I can say that this time, The Wife wanted this piece and she bought it herself. Anything that gets her more interested and active in the hobby is a good thing IMO.....even if it DOES mean that I'll soon be taking care of a fish tank with a fantasy theme and a castle in it.

Updated stock list. Notice how it's always changing....

Current:
2 Bartlett's Anthias
1 Dispar Anthias
1 Blue Reef Chromis
1 Mystery Wrasse
Planned:
1 Fathead Anthias
1 Midas Blenny
1 Leopard Wrasse (female)
1 McCosker's Wrasse (male)
2-3 Barnacle Blennies*
1 Red Firefish
1 Tiger Goby
1 Mandarin
1-2 Dragonface Pipe*
1 Potter's Angel
1 Blue Saphhire Damnsel **
1 Powder Blue Tang
Holy Crap. Am I out of my mind. Richard, how many fish do you have in your 72?? I'm going to need to work out some filtration logistics here.
* I'm either going to do 2 Blennies and 2 Dragonface pipes, or 3 blennies and 1 dragonface. There is internet evidence that the pipes do better as a pair, so I'm leaning towards 2 and 2. OTOH, the idea of three little faces poking out of a barnacle cluster is just very cute.
** This fish represents an argument lost. I won the Clownfish battle...sort of....by agreeing to build a new tank. Not like that took much arm-twisting. But she wanted another blue fish, and she didn't want it to be a blue reef chromis, so the Saphhire was the next best choice. It is supposedly not quite as aggressive as other damsels. We shall see.
