How many people on welfare have you actually met? I've been there, I have stood in line at Catholic Social Services waiting for free groceries.
You act like we have no idea what it's like to come from nothing. I was also divorced and raising 2 kids on my own. My exwife never paid a dime toward her child support. (I asked for less than $200 monthly to help with food)
I had to watch people with no job, and no desire to ever have one, buy steaks and beer while I bought hamburger helper and hot dogs because I had a job that reduced my eligibility for food stamps. Cry to someone else.

What percentage was that? It was most likely lower than what someone earning 25k - 50k a year pays. If his percentage was higher, then he probably needs to get a better CPA (or stop using HR Block)!
Making $25K, subtract standard deductions and the federal tax obligation is $360.
$360 = 1.4%
I'm just sayin....

+1, that's great welfare legislation... And since dems are always concerned with dumb timelines, we should give them a timeline to get off welfare or get converted to soilent green.
Soilent Green for everyone !!

I hear that. Every week I stand inline with my meals designed to stretch out as far as they can . The kids complain when we have "LEFTOVERS AGAIN" . But there is some family infront of me with steaks and snack foods up the wazooo . A lot of times they have things separated into categories too . One to use their WIC for , One to use the food stamps for , and one to pay for with cash . Then the push their buggy FULL out to their monsterous SUV with 24" rims and load it all up .

Seriously about 3 months ago while in line a guy offered to buy our food on his food stamp card for 50 cents on the dollar . I went and told the manager and he went over with the security guard and they escorted the guy to the office area .
It just made me mad as could be .

No, no. Not at all. If that was how it came across, then I want to clear that up.
I am making over $50,000 a year right now, and if everything goes right, I could be over that $250,000 a year by the time it's all said and done. And if I do get there, it will be because I busted my butt to get it done.
By no means do I want to tax the rich because they were born into it, and I am jealous.
In fact, my grandmother died a little under a month ago, and her entire estate is worth a little over six million bucks. She got a two million dollar exemption into a GST, and the remaining four million is being taxed at 46%
As her grandson, I will be getting a third of the half that goes to the three grandkids.
You think I'm happy about getting $300k instead of $600k? Of course I'm not.
But the tax burden has to some FROM SOMEWHERE.
So I guess my question remains, if you don't want to take it from the rich, where is the money going to come from?
Looks like between you 3 and your new 900k you should be able to pay your grandfathers house off.

That was a question I raised earlier, the guy has a 6 figures practically sitting in his bank, but is whining because republicans don't care that his grandpa can't make a house payment.

I just saw the grandpa's house problem. NEVER in a million years would my grandpa be struggling. He would be moving in with us if we couldn't afford to help much. After my gma died, I was with him several times a week, checking on things, food, making sure bills were paid. Unless there is bad blood which BELIEVE me I understand that.......nobody in my immediate (gma and gpa's ) family would ever suffer or struggle.

Please explain.....
So you're saying that because my great-grandfather's family was a bunch of Nazi's, and my middle name comes from his family, that makes me a Nazi??? (He immigrated to Michigan b/c he didn't want to be a part of the ideology).
By the way...McCain disagrees with you:

you are refering to a small % of those who work the system... they probably are either paying someone for the use of their card, or they have undocumented earnings... But the majority of the people who use those resources are in need...One way to fix it is to make education more accessible... that is the best way to bring someone out of poverty..

In all seriousness, how can education be more accessible? It is free k-12. And to go to college can be as well if you aren't white, or meet need based requirements.
