Tangs rule, I'm not directing this post to you, nor do I agree or disagree with your statement about the show,
but I was very disappointed with this statement in the quoted post:
"The only comparison to the galacticly stupid "pros" the show features are the idiots who buy a pit-bull or Rottweiler as the "family pet" only to have it eat and kill the children - then wonder "why"........"
I feel that there is too much negativity on these breed of dogs. Most pit bulls and rottweilers make excellent family pets... no matter what breed the dog is (or ANY animal for that matter), there is always a risk of getting hurt.
Sorry for getting off topic, but this is a topic that I feel very strongly about and I just wanted to express my thoughts
I'm sure most rots & pits do well - but I've seen a pit tear apart a child's foam chair more efficiently than I could have done had I mowed the chair over with the lawnmower. I own 2 dogs, both of Aussie cattle breed/herder - and NEVER seen either attack anything but squirrels. Where I live, it's every 2-3 months, and SOMEONE in the area is mauled/attacked by a dog, and it's yet to be a chiuaua or poodle. news reports verify this....(dog fightin is popular around here)
And IMO dumping dozens of fish into tap water - just readied for "them" is about as careless as leaving the infant alone in the yard with a dog, known for being aggressive. Bad things can happen - regardless of good intentions.
And a show promoting poor handeling of either dogs or fish makes me ill.
Edit: here in east Texas, people who "fight" dogs will actually steal your dog from your backyard during the day while you're at work, to use as a "bait" or "practice" dog - to help teach their animals to kill faster/better. I think dog fighting is actually more popular than cockfighting around here - but fighting chickens get more headlines. The "dirty" secret is all the people whose dogs just vanished from their backyards, no trace how it got out. And it's never seen again.
