Yup - like what's the "owners" gonna do when fish start dying? They've NO ability or knowledge done, haven't read any books, done NO research, and couldn't tell a healthy fish from one that's dead - till it's dead..They've no equipment to Qtine or treat problems either....A more careless and reckless group of salesmen I cannot imagine. Sure they MAY be able to set up a "quality" system - but most species of our fishes cannot/will not ever reproduce in a home system, and there's a limit to how many can be harvested to only appease the stupid with money to piss away. And cramming 30-40 fishes into a 4x4x7 vertical tank with allot of plastic crap in it is NO WAY to run a tank, IMO. It must take a breed of tossers I did not imagine till I saw it.....an absolute disgrace. Piss Poor would be light years ahead of the asinine clowns that'd set up a 1000 gal tank with 90deg tap water, only to cool it with ice from some crap machine - -then pour fishes from bags into it....... and what makes it cool? flat screen TVs inside the tank???? Used to be a nice tank is what you set up to avoid the &#%$ on the TV. If the morons who I saw set up such an abortion of a tank(s) as I did on the season opener were a race-horse, you'd shoot it to mitigate the misery. The only comparison to the galacticly stupid "pros" the show features are the idiots who buy a pit-bull or Rottweiler as the "family pet" only to have it eat and kill the children - then wonder "why".........
My expectations for redemption of the clowns promoted in the program are very low.
Tangs rule, I'm not directing this post to you, nor do I agree or disagree with your statement about the show,
but I was very disappointed with this statement in the quoted post:
"The only comparison to the galacticly stupid "pros" the show features are the idiots who buy a pit-bull or Rottweiler as the "family pet" only to have it eat and kill the children - then wonder "why"........"

I feel that there is too much negativity on these breed of dogs. Most pit bulls and rottweilers make excellent family pets... no matter what breed the dog is (or ANY animal for that matter), there is always a risk of getting hurt.
Sorry for getting off topic, but this is a topic that I feel very strongly about and I just wanted to express my thoughts

I'm sure most rots & pits do well - but I've seen a pit tear apart a child's foam chair more efficiently than I could have done had I mowed the chair over with the lawnmower. I own 2 dogs, both of Aussie cattle breed/herder - and NEVER seen either attack anything but squirrels. Where I live, it's every 2-3 months, and SOMEONE in the area is mauled/attacked by a dog, and it's yet to be a chiuaua or poodle. news reports verify this....(dog fightin is popular around here)
And IMO dumping dozens of fish into tap water - just readied for "them" is about as careless as leaving the infant alone in the yard with a dog, known for being aggressive. Bad things can happen - regardless of good intentions.
And a show promoting poor handeling of either dogs or fish makes me ill.
Edit: here in east Texas, people who "fight" dogs will actually steal your dog from your backyard during the day while you're at work, to use as a "bait" or "practice" dog - to help teach their animals to kill faster/better. I think dog fighting is actually more popular than cockfighting around here - but fighting chickens get more headlines. The "dirty" secret is all the people whose dogs just vanished from their backyards, no trace how it got out. And it's never seen again.

I agree with you, tang...

well tomorrow is a new episode and we will see if any changes will be made
I remeber this one time I went to a rainforst cafe and I was so excited to see all the fish
But when arrived I was shocked to see all the fish had hlle (and when I say all, I mean all) and some had ich
Now when I saw this show it reminded me of those tanks

I might attempt to watch some of it - but if it's more of the same stuff as last week - I'll just turn off the tube and watch my tank with the moon lights on.

okay..... ya'll do realize this show was probably taped like 3 to 6 months ago right? Doubt there will be any changes.... lol. You've got to admit tho, well atleast I do, that with them bringing up QT'g fish was a big improvement over what they had been doing.
I love the creativity tho, sorry. That there is the only reason I watch it.

The TANKED crew are basically putting on a reality "show" about their rather high-end aquarium making business. Their attitude about fish is pretty business like, not unlike most tank maintenance businesses.
These guys are obviously very successful in what they do, though not exactly the most highly conscientious marine aquarist in terms of the fish they keep.
However, people on this site still refuse to set up quarantine tanks, so "we" aren't exactly model hobbyists either. :flamed:

LOL... I don't refuse to set one up, I just never did! And our biggest member, meowzer, didn't either... so don't look at me like I'm some crazy person... or maybe me and meowzer are both crazy

I just watched the latest episode with the jukebox junkyard aquarium. They filled it up with what amounted to about 30 gal with so many fish that will inevitably turn into a fish war-zone within a week. I gave up on on this show.
They are basically tank makers, not a fish store.
Set in Las Vegas which explains the zany craziness.

I will wsay that I saw a lot of beautiful fish....just so sad that they were not in the proper environments :(

Has anyone else noticed the poor naso tang that they show at the end of all the episodes sitting in one spot at the bottom of a tank covered with spots and breathing a million miles and hour. I also give up on the show, while it is cool to see all the fish they just seem to have no idea of how to stock a tank.

ya kinda disappointed with the fish handling but they do make kool fish tanks and have proper filtration for FOWLR...
I wouldnt consider them to be hobbyist just money making business men!
It was funny in the latest episode when they were eating Chinese food in the end and he couldnt help but look at the tank...
than she looks at the one behind him after burning him for looking lol....i just hope its not all a show. It seems most reality shows these days are a bit over the top for the camera!
