    Clown Trigger in a 75?

The clown is going to be one of the more (Queen's and undulates seem to rule the roost) aggressive triggers out there, but every one has their own personality. Niger's are one of the more layed back triggers. Bursa's-middle of the road. Triggers are cool and it always gets back to individual...

    Fish relocation?

Sorry, just re-read your post. Didn't realize it was a clown trigger. If you absolutely have to break down the 5 gallon, I would put the damsel in with the Regal. He'll probably kack or get eaten with the clown and trigger. Watch him though, if he starts pestering the tang, you may want to...

    Fish relocation?

It probably comes down to how long you're going to place him in there and what the personality of the fish currently are. How big is he? Damsels are devils as far as aggression goes and the maroon clows are also aggressive. If you only have those three fish in a 26 gallon, you should be...

    I just don't understand this......???

It's not going to take long before those fish outgrow that tank. First you have three fish considered fairly aggressive, so even if they are small, they are still territorial. A tank and a trigger are usually considered 75 gallon sized animals. Again, even if the fish are small, they are...

Tiny White Bugs In My Tank!

Lay off the caffeine, don't worry. First, ich is a bacterial infection, it's so small you wouldn't be able to see it in the tank, so what you're seeing is definitely not ich. Dollars to doughnuts the hitchhikers came on your latest batch of live rock. Without a more detailed description, it's...

    Inverts with Lion

You should be okay. Watch out for small shrimp and crabs, they'll become popcorn. Snails should be fine and the species you have listed shoudl be okay.

    quarintine tank???????????

Jake: Hyposalinity is a low salinity level. Think of it as the opposite of hyper. If your kid is hyperactive he has too much energy...naturally hypo would then be less than normal. Hyposalinity is usually a salinity level of 1.09 or around that area. It's good for treating ich and a few other...

    quarintine tank???????????

Slow down cowboy, you're overthinking this whole thing (I speak from experience, I posted something similar a while back). Use your QT tank as not only a treatment area for sick fish, but as a holding tank to observe new fish. Alot of times you're going to see fish in the store and buy them...

    Newbie questions

Cool, good for you to step in and help those guys out rather than a painful certain death (released in a lake!!!!!!) The only thing I would tell you is to be careful how you arrange the rockscape in your tank. A 90 corner tank is beautiful, but most of them are set up to be shallow reef tanks...

    niger trigger

Hate to tell you, but you're overstocked right now for that size aquarium. The Tang and fox face are going to put you over the limit let alone the others. The minimum size for a trigger is 75 gallons and that's pretty much a trigger by itself with maybe a couple small fish. Go back to the lfs...

    Feather Dusters

I wouldn't worry too much. I have two feather dusters in a tank with only hermits and snails right now (deciding on the fauna at the moment), and both have shed tubes. The larger of the two just shed the top 1/4, stayed low until it grew a new collar and is now at full mast. The smaller...

    New Tank & Cycle

My big tank has finally finished it's cycle (after 3 months!!!). Before I add the new inhabitants, I want to break in my QT tank (10 gallons). If I use the shrimp method, how long should I leave the shrimp in? Until it decomposes? or a set amount of time? Please advise.

Am I going to learn a $25 lesson?

Sorry Jester, the shrimp is an appetizer as soon as the Lion's mouth can accomodate him. The only shrimp that survived my Lion is a coral banded boy that was the first thing I added. He got territorial and aggressive and no one screws with him. My three cleaners (added at the same time as the...

    Cycling QT

My large tank is in the middle of a cycle and I need to re-do my QT tank (10 gallon). So if I use the shrimp method, how long do I leave the shrimp in there? Should I turn off all filtration during the cycling?

    Can't finish cycle

I (now) know that not all of the LR was cured. About 50 lbs of it came right out of a tank with fish in it and had some good white and purple algae on it. The ammonia has not gone above .25 and I have trace amounts of trates, but no trites yet.

    Can't finish cycle

Here are my specs: (as if these haven't been posted before) 75 gallon tank, up for 90+ days. 75 lbs live rock, about 90 lbs of live sand. Added things too quickly and had a die off. Hermit crabs and turbo snails are in the tank, have a couple feather dusters, a nice colt but no fish as of now...

    lion antenna

The thing to worry about is bacterial infection. Put it on hold and check it every couple of days, the LFS should hold for up to 2 weeks if they want your business. Watch for dusting of the scalles, clouding of the eyes and make sure it eats. A feeder fish will do fine for demo purposes, but...

Lionfish on a hunger strike..any ideas?

Sorry to say it Jester, but sounds like your lion has the same thing mine had. I would tell you right now to start treating with Maracyn II which is an antibiotic. Hopefully you can stop the progression and save the little guy. Good luck in the disease forum!
