we just got our twip strip canopies today and it made a difference from just the 2 18" trichromatics... i think that we'll be keeping these lights for a while.. then, next year if we don't get a bigger tank, we'll just upgrade the lighting for a reef tank... thanks a lot.. i think that i'll just...

is this enough to promote coraline algae growth? 1 48" 10,000 K (40 watts) 1 48" actinic (40 watts) 2 18" trichromatic (15 watts each)

yay or nay 260 watts (48") 2-10,000 K and 2-actinic 65 watts each.. ($320)

i was wondering what would be the best combo for a 55 gal FOWLR? i'm getting the twin tube strip lights... i know for sure the i'm putting a 48" actinic blue (40 watts)... what would be better to coincide with that? high intensity 20,000 K or 10,000 K or 50/50 full spectrum lights... thanks for...

MI prices are: purple tang = range from $70 to $150 depending on size yellow tang = range from $20 to $40 depending on size hope this helps...

i suggest a fairy wrasse, those are nice... i also suggest a jawfish instead of the royal gramma.. i think they are much more exciting to watch.. :) as for the tang, you should wait atleast 2 months so you can develop some algae... also, 5 chromis should be fun to watch...

i also think age matters... we bought two gold stripe maroon (about 3/4") at our LFS and they had white stipes.. one we paired with an older female that's really brown and have the gold stripe.. now the young one is starting to get it's gold stripe and turning darker..
