    algea on my sand bed

Its a little more indepth then that. If you just pull it out and do nothing else you will wind up having the samething come back. How long has your aquarium been set up? how much LR do you have? Do you have any part of a 'Cleaning Crew' (Shrimp, crabs, snails, starfish, urchins, etc...)? And...

Did play sand mess up my tank?

I think it will be okay, but invest in a Silicate remover. there is a great product called ROWAPHOS that abosrbes both Silicates and PO4 (organic phosphates, which would be present in your tank to some degree if you used tap water to set it up), I would run it a few times along with a...

    Strange lighting question

true, true... but, i am not talking about ultra-delicate tri-color acro's or anything. I just love the look of a digit Porities field near the top, and big outstretched overhangs from my monti cup's. The Quad's we sell anyways come in 50/50, but we sell a lot of the 6500K lights for refugiums...

    Frogspawns??? Need some help please.

Watts per gallon is only a rough estimate. The true meausre of light intensity is Lumen per Square Foot. If you are running power compact lights the wattage and lumen output should be suffecient to sustain the frogspawn... I just think their are other issues with the tank. For lion fish to grow...

flame angle and bio color in the same tank??

I think the issues depend more on what else is in the tank (fish-wise), what you do when you introduce him (making sure lights are off, possibly rearranging rock work, or even isolating your BI for a week or so untill the flame gets adjusted), and what if anything you put in at the same time...
