    attempting sponge

    Hello everyone, I am thinking of trying several sponge type in my tank. I have a 75gal with 100lbof rock I have just upgraded to an 8 bulb t-5 unit for lights. Does anyone have suggestions as to what type survives the best and placement within the tank. Thanks

    Tangs Tangs How many ?

    Someone asked about adding a hippo. I recently added one to a tank that has a sailfin, and a naso. I have a lot of live rock for the hippo to hide in. It took about a week for the hippo to swim freely, but now he;s just one of the guys.

    well said everyone, I think this eggcrate issue is just a fad, All my base rock(not live rock) was put directly on the glass with the sand spead around it. My tank is a 75gal and has ben running over a year as s reef tank with no problems. I suggest enjoying what u have. ***)

    No, use fresh water only. Make sure u check the specific gravity and salinity often, readjust these levels when u do your water changes. good luck! :joy: :cheer: :jumping:

    thanks for the imput, my LFs thinks there great. they don't sell them but use them on all there tanks. price alway being an isue they seem to be the best bang for the buck, but that isn't always the truth.

    THe site said the bulbs were all 54watts, my choice of colors, whould would be a good combination for a six bulb setup

    WE saw one of these setup at a new lfs. We are thinking of upgrading our lighting from compact to HO. we are mostly a reef tank 75gals. Are these lights worth the investment? WE are thinking of the 6 bulb unit what are the advantage an disavantage?

    Tangs... How Difficult are they...

    For now, all the tangs swim together very nicely and actually school. We've experienced no problems for the past 8 months. When we do, we'll upgrade. Hey, you never know what you can do until you try!

    I knew when I posted it the tang police would come out. I find everyone has there own level of what a tank will hold. The more fish the more active one has to be with upkeep. If u kept on top of it the tank is fine. WE also has 100lb of rock, a canister filter a double biowheel and a oversize...

    Live rock

    before adding any live rock to a tank, you should really let it sit in a separate tank or bucket with salt water, put a powerhead in and leave it for several days. This will make such if any thing is going to die off and there are any unwanted vistors they come off before placing in your tank...

    WE have a 75gal set up as a reef. Before u invest in coral make sure u have a good light sytem or the coral will slowly die off and pollute your tank. u will need compact light at least but metal halide is better.

    Tangs... How Difficult are they...

    Hi, I have a 75gal with five diffent tangs, naso,hippo,yellow,sailfin, kole. They are great togther. They school very nice togther, I feed them seaweed leafs 3 times a day, they love to eat. I have a reef tank they are great with it.

    Tangs in a Reef

    I know I'm going to get yelled at by the tang police, but I have a 75gal. I have a yellow, sailfin, naso, kole,hippo, along with assortmnet of other fish. They are doing great. I feed them seaweed sheets 3 times a day. no problems. It is also a reef tank with 100lbs of rock
