    ID on growth

They are aposymbiotic, so if you want to give them a chance you will have to feed them several times a week. I have quite a few and after six months they are reproducing by forming new buds. I feed flakes, krill and brine shrimp regularly.

    my tank 'acident'

Sorry to hear that, and hope it heals quickly. If you do need to go to the doctor you may want to mention Vibrio and/or Mycobacterium marinum. Here are a couple articles to check out. http://www.animalnetwork.com/fish2/a...ce/default.asp http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2003-0...ture/index.htm

    Awesome sight!

I came to check-in on the progress of my water change a few hours ago only to find a legion of peppermint shrimp larvae in the tank. I can only hope that a few might make it in the refugium. The green tint in the photo is DT's.

What kind of LR do you have? Any pics?

I was lucky. All I have found are two isopods, but tons of good stuff. I only have about 15 pounds and on that there are 5 types of macro algae and plants, too many Cladocoraand other corals, sponges, worms, pods, urchins, limpets, snails, brittle stars, clams, and who knows what I am...

    Snail id?

These were hitchhikers. I thought they might be white ceriths but after looking at Kip4130's post on snails I'm not sure; they don't exactly resemble his photo example of a white cerith. Then I thought perhaps a trumpet snail but again the shells do not match the photos I found. Sprung has a...

    Snail id?

That cerith is from the Sea of Cortez west on Mexico. These are from the east, from the gulf.

    DT's and skimming

I think I remember reading a post some time ago about someone using a rubbermaid tub and old tank water to grow phytoplankton outside in the sun during the summer. I may be wrong or it may have been macro growing but that would be an ideal situation with respect to ease.

    10 gallon 6 pack

That's on the "to do" list I just have not done it yet. Thanks for the kind words all. Also, I have a few Cladocora sp. frags for those interested; they are pieces that broke off during shipping but all are in great condition, and as you can see I have plenty.
