Heres one of mine. 2007 Lexus RX350. My other is an 03 Saab 9-3, which i can't find a picture of right now. Just got the Lexus a few weeks ago to replace my piece of crap 04 Ford Explorer Limited.

I do mine during the day before lights are on. For me thats usually morning to early afternoon. Fish arent as scared and its just a much better time for me.

I got my valves from Ace. IMO they are of good quality.

Tropic Marin Pro...Keeps my Ca around 400-420. I used Red Sea and had problems keeping Ca up.

They sell MTC(Marine Technical Concepts) skimmers there, which is what i use on my tank. IMO they are great. Very efficient. They are a bit pricey, but worth it. They have quality frags. Decent selection on tanks also. I grew up in Bayside so thats always where i went for stuff.

Strange. Ive never heard of changing salt brands and having an algae outbreak. I just switched to TM Pro from Red Sea about a month ago and i couldn't be happier. No problems here. I guess your system is very sensitive to changes. Good luck.

I noticed you said your husband is building a canopy. Just a heads up on these Current units. You can't use them under a canopy. They give off a decent amount of heat from the top vents. I would look for a nice retrofit for under your canopy. And get a couple computer fans to pull the heat out.
