    Green Open Brain???

I would question this one, doesn't appear to be an open brain, but a cynaria instead. Turning brown is ok, collecting the zooxanthellae (algae) that it lives off of. In time this will dissappear. Still a nice coral....appears healthy and happy.

    fox coral

Ok, your tank is only 2 inches deeper than mine, so I would definately keep it low in the tank, and somewhat shaded. Any chance of raising the lights? Are they pendalents or fixed in a canopy? If they are suspended easy fix and raise them up. Fox corals don't need the high lighting of some of...

    Algae on my coral (?!)

I would try to vacuum it out, appears to maybe a type of cyano. Cyano can come in many different color forms. If it vacuums out it is indeed cyano.

    micro bubbles from canister....

Are your microbubbles all the time, or just after a filter cleaning? My fluval will do this, but only for about a day. Then stops. I attribute it to cleaning the filter sponges.

    chaeto turning brown

Not burn't, just no flow. Thin it out some, and you will see the new growth. It appears that it is above the water line also. Thinning is the answer.

    Weird sack thing

Type of sponge, no worries. Just remember it is there so that if you move the rock, don't take it out of the tank. Air will kill it and polute the tank. I have a rock with zoas on it that has multiple of these sponges. They are excellent filter feeders.

brown, smelly algae, what's this pink stuff? (pic)

Definately sounds like cyano bacteria. I'm not sure I would use a paper towel inside the tank though. They could have chemicals on them that are making the cyano stay around. Do a water change (most important), and add some more current, decrease lighting will all help this out. Just so you...

    Aptasia and air???

That is what many people do to live rock if it overtakes the tank, so I guess this is a solution to the tank as well. I would imagine that after a week you should be able to scrape most of the dead tissues out of it. If it is in the overflows, more than likely will be in the rock too. (spores)...

    Book recommendations?

Both of those will give you a wealth of knowledge about the care of all types of corals. They both have excellent pictures also, because sometimes corals can look very much alike, but have slight differences. Enjoy both. Oh, and welcome to the world of........"where did all my money go?"

    feeding bubble and brain corals-help!

Just FYI, mine only have their feeding tentacles out at night when the moonlights come on, so feed accordingly to their liking. Mysis, small pieces of clam, any meaty fare is good, just very small pieces.
