There were Ebo's at the distributor where I worked that had been in constant use for over 20 years. The system was constantly topped off with unheated water, probably at least 10% a day, so they really had to work hard too.
A quick story, I used to be in charge of returns at a distributor. A lfs owner wanted to return a couple cases of 'defective' heaters. the glass was broken on all of them. He told me "the dang things got real hot, but they blowed up as soon as we stuck them in the water". DUH!!!
I had a Tomato Clown for about 12 years. At 8 she survived a 2 week power outage in the middle of August and the tank temp was 94. The oldest thing I had was some live rock that had built up around a clam, the entire rock would flip open when it was hungry. It had been in a DT in a store in...
one of the reasons people dis damsels is that they seem to be fin nippers. This is actual the aquarist's fault, they are schooling fish and should always be kept as such. All schooling fish should be kept in odd numbers of at least 3.
I really like that all 14k look. The fish colors look natural but it still has that classic flouresent Hagen AquaGlo look. Would 14k T5s look like that too?
Introduction of new species into a controlled environment can be instantaneous, it takes a long time in nature. Example, Aiptasia control by adding Peppermint shrimp. My reef tank contained things that had been harvested in the early 1950's.
I'm totally confused now. I Googled humuhumunukunukuapuaa and it showed Rhinecanthus Rectangulus
I thought that was actually the Huma, and that the Rhinecanthus aculeatus was the Humuhumunukunukuapuaa. Is this what you think too? At least thats what every species reference I've ever used...
He may very well do as he says. I know plenty of stores that do. Most stores I know do keep copper in fish only systems. As far as what he says you should do is his opinion. I'd still QT.
Judging from the size and maturity of your tank, I'd say starvation. The population of such creatures will adjust to what the environment will sustain. BTW IMO, 1.025 is a bit on the high side except for shallow dwelling or high light requiring livestock.
I have a feeling the whole thing with Olivia was maybe a test for yet another spinoff. I think the replacement partner is going bye bye. Once you kiss your partner you're gone.
I also love Criminal Intent.
