    Just started a 10G nano. Some ?'s

Smaller power heads = rio 50 and 90..... The 50 does about 60pgh and the 90 about 80 or 90.... Both are quiet for rios. You want a power head that does about 5 times an hour turnover. Your bta will get sucked in again until he roots himself where he wants.....

Corals dead, missing or going to be dead

Interesting. I'm at a loss. You did double the light but not so much more that it would kill things like it has.... Powder or liquid calcium? If you pour the mixed cup of water from the powder calcium it can shock a coral if you directly pour the contents on it..... Matching salinity in...

Tales from the LFS: Part 2

SINCE WHEN is there an operation or organization that genetically engineers fish? Does he even know the difference between the two? Isn't the whole salt hobby in general roughly 25 years old? I mean we are still learning things. Dogs and cats are typical pets and man has been keeping them...

    elegance

I remember helping you. You may want to get your hands on some more macro algae to place in that tank. It will facilitate pod reproduction or place some live rock in there for that purpose. You MUST feed this thing to help keep it alive. If even once a week stick some shrimp on him so he can...

    Clownfish Compatability

I'm pretty sure you can mix percs of different colors. Just make sure they are percs and not black saddlebacks or something..... I will say you may have a territory conflict because the percs will pair up most likely and have 2 seperate homes which they will defend from others...

    Help Identify

does he have spikes on his sides? If no he's not a bristle worm. Some other sort of worm though. Either way he's beneficial unless he gets very very big. You have a very adventurous bristle worm at that if it is one. They usually don't come so much from their hole in full light.....

Corals dead, missing or going to be dead

Just putting an acro in one tank from another can cause it to bleach sometimes. So i wouldn't not count that one. But i do wonder. Where did you buy the tank from? Possible residual copper? But then that would kill your inverts.... Did you change salts? I've seen posts about doing that...

    lighting over five

Not bad. Whats the inches of growth you are getting though? Thats the measure. :) I too am growing sps under pc's and am getting a little over an inch a month in growth..... Wish i had a camera to better document things with :( BTW i've got mine about six inches from 2x65 watts. EDIT: oh...

My starfish killed my trigger fish!! Pics.

I've never heard of a starfish killing a trigger like that. I would think if anything the trigger would kill the starfish..... Are you sure the trigger was healthy? Usually when inverts prey on fish the fish is not healthy or dying or already dead.......

Corals dead, missing or going to be dead

Yeah i second that one. Sounds like you didn't acclimate the corals to your new lights. T5's are halides? Going from 96 compacts to halides is MUCH stronger light which softies can take but not all at once..... Sounds like they might be getting fried by the light. Keep in mind that shrooms...

    Eel/shark problems

I second what irenicus said. Until you get bigger than a 55 this will continue. The eel will probably bite one day if the shark gets careless and one of them is going to end up wounded seriously probably.....

    private messages??

disabled by the admins of the board. Took up too much bandwidth or something like that. Still an option because removing it requires a major overhaul in the site code im sure :)

    Zenia ?

A WEEK??? HA :) I'd give it a day or two. One trick to try is to get the end you cut touching a piece of rock. It should attatch in a couple hours :)

    How long until a mandarin?

You can dose phytoplankton or zooplankton to your tank. Corals and all microlife benefit. Just be sure not to overdose.

    getting bacteria and bubbles...NEED HELP!!

I didn't see that in your earlier posts about the water. Just that you had done water changes. Thats not enough of a clean up crew to keep up with a 75 gallon tank. You can easily double those numbers if you want. I would get some cerith and nassarius snails to go through the sand. Keeping...

    Is it normal to get...

If you are only so lucky they will grow full size. They will stay small like that. Count yourself lucky you have a great infrastructure to clean your tank up with. How big was your tank? I personally would get rid of the sand sifting star. They usually eat themselves to death not to mention...

    clown trouble

Try looking for anemone fish disease. I don't think its detectable and i've HEARD, not seen, that it kills silently. Its some sort of internal parasite ocean caught percs get. Esentially they need to be dewormed. Thus why there are tank raised percs and why they are so much more expensive...

strawberry Pseudochromis, will it eat my shrimp?

The only thing you need to worry about the purple psuedo and all pseudo's for that matter is territoriality and tank size. If it becomes an issue when you add something to the tank, and it always does in small tanks, try messing up his home. They pick out their cave and defend it well...
