    Skimmer suggestions

Dont get one. They are crappy, just above prisms in quality and thats being lenient. I personally have a Seabay(Euroreef clone) on my 55 and it does great. BAKPAKs work great too for a little less $$ than the Euroreefs and Seabays.

What kind of fish is there?

Where have you been Oph? I think the first one was spotted 5 or 6 years ago. Since then they have been spotted even way up north in New Jersey down to I know Greys Reef in GA and I believe farther south even. Cold water and the funny thing is they are thriving especially with very few predators...

    shark pond

How much space will this take up and will it have a railless bridge over it? In addition will it(the bridge) have a trapdoor in the middle? No really, how big dimensionally is that? Will you swim in it? How the heck are you going to feed that many sharks without owning you own farm or trawler...

What kind of fish is there?

You might as well call lions native fish now, they are reproducing up and down the coast although i havent read any reports of them as far south as the Carribean. Flying Fish have long flowing fins for obvious reason. Lookdowns are a good one Sailfin Blennies Jackknife-fish African Pompano...

    what fish won't I kill?

There is no such thing as a hardy tang. There are some that are tougher than other tangs, but overall they are a very weak family of fish.

    what fish won't I kill?

Well I agree with the Claw too, but given your later information perhaps the situation is not that extreme. However that is the situation in 95% of most cases. I would ditch the damsels as well or if you want to keep them get a fish that can hold its own against them like maybe a Pygmy Angelfish...

glad to have done all that worthless research on the web

Another issue is whether thats the type of anemone it inhabits in the wild. Not all anemone shrimp go with all anemones. In addition the crab was established in the anemone and like most everything else established, had its own territory and did not want to share. Yes size of the anemone could...

Kick Ich.........have you tried it? and a ?

No idea on the congregating part on the fish, but I have used Rid-ich in the past. You wont like my response, I have had 50/50 results using recommended dosage. Rather than spend the $25 bucks on this stuff, I would go with a QT and copper routine. On the good side, it is perfectly reefsafe in...

    Lion Fish and Black Tip?

His LFS is going to take back a Nurse Shark after it outgrows the tank? What the heck are they going to do with it and curiously how is he going to get a big nurse shark out of the tank, its not like catching a damsel.

    moving.

I have never actually cycled a tank so i dont know if it will start over. The four times I have started a tank I just used LR and LS from the beach and kept the bioload exceptionally low for the first month, one or two fish at most. No noticable cycle. In theory if you keep the same water, same...

    black tip sharks

those particular sharks will not work in that small of a tank. There are other sharks that will however. This is not a good place to ask for other vendors though since that is not allowed here. Although if you do a search for sharks you will probably quickly see who the primary shark people who...

    black tip sharks

Now that you are here, what size tank do you plan on putting them in? If you didnt know before, both of these species require rather large tanks that are bigger than most of our abilities to have. Novice had one about the right size and even though it was big enough for him to swim in it, I...

    moving.

you are lucky, you have a lttle tank. I have to move a 55 reef, and a 65 reef in a month. My plan if it helps you, is to have a bunch of rubbermaid containers and keeping them separate put rock and some water in one and fish/critters and water in the other for each tank. Any loose coral on...

ya gotta read this, care sheet from *****

I point out dead starfish at my LFS all the time...just so I can watch them feed the harlequin shrimp :) yeah its childish, but hey since I cant afford to keep a harley fed, why not have them do it instead? They dont react like it bothers them.

    Catalina Goby in a reef?

Above post being an exception not the rule, Catalinas fare poorly in reef tanks. They come from 72 degree water and do not adapt well to 80-82 and generally will not survive long term as they slowly cook.

    Low maintenance Clown hosts

Take that stuff somewhere else berg. Wow Zib, thats a nice one, I picked up a frag from my LFS and its growing like a weed too, hope it gets that big. As to the thread question, yes a clown will adapt to almost any tenticled coral I have noticed. I had a perc long term who moved into a patch of...

dumb question time? =) pods the cheapo way

My ex gf just QTd her fish at my urging because of a bad ich outbreak. Her main tank has been empty of fish for about 3 weeks now and she told me it is just crawling with pods now that the fish are gone. It might take a little longer than three weeks but I am sure a 10 gallon would have the...

    Continued fight against algea

One thing you might not have figured is your nitrates. You read none, possibly no phosphates either. Thats because the algae is using it as fast as it is produced. WHile to me you seem to have a light bioload it could very well still be there. I fought a major algae problem for over two years...
