    Protien Skimmer Problems

You got hosed dude. Prisms are a crap skimmer. When you say stores, do you mean stores in your area or stores online. Brick and mortar stores are going to charge exhorbitant prices because they have to to stay in business and they make even more profit when they charge high prices for cheap...

ok guys after a little research I know what i want

a 100gallon really isnt big enough for a ray seeing as they can easily get more than 2 feet wide. I would be looking for at least 3 feet in width, not too too concerned with length or height since they typically go up with width anyway. A lion would go decently well except they like having stuff...

    Pics of my tank

Since you are the first person i have seen to use it, does the white of the bleached coral stay white? I mean with algae and such, surely it will turn colors and not be as bright over time right?

ok guys after a little research I know what i want

No clowns and especially no sea horses. There is nothing there for them to forage on or hang on to. They would get eaten most likely as well. As for fish, there are a few you could get. Lookdowns would do okay, groupers, snappers ect. You might as well forget your traditional reef fishes however...

    Is this Cruel???

African ciclids come from FW lakes in Africa, no where near the ocean. The SA kind come from all over so it is possible that it might be from a brackish water area. But still, to see them in full salt is just odd, especially for long term heheh.

anyone know where you can buy a sea turtle?

Couldnt do it in a reef. Way too messy animals. Ever try keeping a freshwater aquatic turtle? The water quality would always be in the red. Then you have to supply the food. Leatherbacks eat loads of jellyfish, because they are so critically endangered there has been a noticable rise in the...

    Garden Eel

Whatever, these guys are relatively difficult to keep. They require a very deep DSB and alot of it. Extremely difficult to get them off of live food if you can get them to eat in the first place. Really should be in sandbed Biotope tank.

    Fourline Wrasse ???

Great little fish, my LFS had one and I snapped it up. More peaceful than a sixline even and prettier colors.

    Antenneta Lionfish ?'s

Odd, mine ate prepared food from the start and quickly got to the point of eating out of my fingers. Guess it just depends on the individual.

    culturing copepods

They arent really that difficult to culture. I am doing just that right now in my 65 before introducing pipefish in maybe next month. What I did to start you being in Tenn, prolly do not have that option of doing and thats going to the dock and catching several hundred and tossing them in the...

    What to feed a Lionfish

I dont know where you live on the map but if you live near salt water you should be able to go and catch grass shrimp. They are easy enough to catch in grassy areas(thus the name). These work great especially if you set up a little SW tank to keep them in. I used to do this when I had a lion, I...

    saltwater sucker fish?

I had one I caught off my dock here. For awhile I fed my tank mysis since I had pipes that loved it and the clingfish would come out and eat with gusto. Then after my last pipe went carpet surfing(who would have thunk it?) I never saw him again even though I fed the tank flake for the other...

    Cleaner Wrasse Killing!!!!

First off, cleaner wrasses are not meant for the home aquarium. They have a 99% mortality rate plus their taking robs the wild reefs of a vital resource. Shame on you for not doing research first and learning this. Secondly my guess would be yes, the wrasse is behind it. Due to the severe lack...

anyone know where you can buy a sea turtle?

I have no clue what the guy above me said, try speaking in proper English. I think it was something about hollaring at him, I dont think anyone was seriously mad at the guy. This is one of those humorous threads gone bad I think.

new to salt water what should i do?????

Good idea on the research part. If you do not intend on keeping the 150 after you get the shark tank then dont make it a reef tank. A huge portion of the money in a reef tank is the lighting which you wont need if you arent going to keep it forever(figuratively speaking) Just go with a fish only...

? about bangaii looks and behavior when mouthbrooding

I think either the eggs or the fry take about 12-14 days to either hatch or come out on their own. I would be too worried. Just make sure you feed the big ones, especially the male some very high quality food and lots of it when he starts eating again.

anyone know where you can buy a sea turtle?

Much better actually chances actually. Especially considering when even getting caught with one on your boat has something like a $20,000 fine and confication of your boat and then some jail time possibly unless you have a really good reason for having it on your boat such as cutting a fishing...

anyone know where you can buy a sea turtle?

There has only been one place on the planet so far that they have recovered at all. Even with recovery efforts it is not expected that they will be in existance in 100 years unless an entire worldwide effort is made to curb their hunting and use responsible fishing methods, something the Asian...

    Breeding

Well I dont think its been done before because they are amoung the cheapest and most common fish in the hobby and it would be extremely difficult to justify their breeding for economic reasons. They are very cheap and very common, why spend $10-15 bucks on a captive bred one when you can get one...
