    dead damsel

If it's a damsel - I'd say either it was old, was attacked or it ate something toxic in the tank.

    Help! Aptaisia Outbreak

OK - I have a 55 gallon tank with 80 lbs of LR., 4.5" LS - two power heads, a 300 Watt heater, a cheap filter runnign Chemi-pure carbon. How many tangs in a 125

Foxface will eat some of your polyps/corals when really hungry. As far as the tangs - the hippo and yellow tang will do fine - even a Naso for your third (getting clode to too many though. If you plan on putting that Purple tang with any other tang someone will be dead real soon!! The purple...

    Regal Blue Or Hippo Tang?

These are really cool looking fish - when they're aclimated and hungry. If they're not hungry they hide and if they're scared they hide. But otherwise it's a great looking fish!!

    saifin tang

It's sounds as if youjr tank isn't ready for a tang yet - too young. Sailfins are really easy to keep provided the tank is established, has enough live rock and enough oxygen. I've had many sailfins - they're cheap and pretty and very hardy. I'm sorry your hasving trouble. be patient and try...

    Tank Swap?

What you can do is split the water and move some of your Live Rock to the new tank and your done. If you don't have live rock (you have a filter system - then your tank will cycle, however since your water is already rich with nitrifying bacteria you WILL JUMP start the cycle. It will still...

    New fish Ideas!!

Bag the clown idea. Your clown is too used to being solitary to be nice. Get some star fish - Green Brittles/Serpent stars like to eat right out of your hand. i fyou have low nitrates add a feather duster or two. Try keeping some Mushroom Corals (keep these on top of the rock structure) and...

    Need opinion

The sailfin will not fiht with teh Bannerfish becuase of it's different expanded shape. the sailfin looks for oval shaped fish to fight with. Banner fish are fine.

    Bye,bye snails

Snails are not typically treated well during transport - your LPS may not be doing you any favors. I only use Astrea snails as they are the only ones that last more than six months. I have a couple in the tank that are 3 years old. Try astrea's - all they do is clean and they're cheap.

    auto-feeders

they're all crap unless oyu can find the liquid distrobution type. These are sold at the Salt Water fish stores.

    Need opinion

Your tank is large enough for a number of different species. I would agree that a Foxface would be nice. A Hippo Tang would do nicely (the different shape makes it compatible with the Sailfin) and you could add a flame or bi-colored angel as well. The Naso is probably best left in the other...

    Mushroom Coral question

I know mushroom corals are supposed to be filter feeders: The symbiotic algae zooxanthellae hosted within it provide the majority of its nutritional requirements from the light driven process of photosynthesis. It also eats plankton and smaller invertebrates such as crustaceans. Since I started...

    too many fish

You have plenty of room in your 125 Gallon for these fish. I would suggest that you don't add too many more large fishes though. The two keys to avoiding overstocking is 10 gall per every 1.5" of fish and of course avoid spieces that battle for the same tank space. I've seen reef/FOWLR tanks...

    Flakes

I have my overflow with a plastic cover that keeps some of the flake in the tank longer - also try using Formual One flake - it drops to the bottom pretty quickly.

    Water changes during cycle?

Good question - During the cycling process if you do a water change you will lengthen and even restart the process. Just add water for evap and let your tank cycle for about 5 weeks before starting water changes.

    Pairing 2 True Percula Clowns?

Keep a close eye but it sounds like you lucked out. the right approach is to add amore than 1 new addition with the understanding that you will have to take someone back to the LPS. Congrats - I have had many mated pairs of clowns (hence the name ocellaris) and I've only been lucky like you...

    what charcoal is better?

I exclusively use Chemi-Pure carbon filter sacks - they are easy to deal with and work GREAT (about $6.99 for a bag that last about 3-6 months) I tried the other types - add to your filter and they just were a pain in the but to get clean enough to safely put into the tank.
