    Enough Filtration

Thanks, Niger. Being that the tank is a 50g, the inside dimensions of the stand fits at most an 18g tall or a 10g. While I think the idea of a sump/fuge is a GREAT one, it's just not entirely practical for me ATM. The stand is currently filled with an auto top-off reservoir and a 400w MH...

Total noob looking to start an aquarium

You could keep a smaller eel, and smaller puffer combination in a 55g aggressive tank. No inverts though. They'd get muched. You wouldnt want to add much more either, b/c it might stress your bioload. Also, I'd strongly recommend adding livestock one at a time, especially in a small...

    Enough Filtration

Im just looking for other opinions on whether or not I have enough biological filtration or not. Here's my setup: -50g reef w/ 5" DSB and 90lbs LR -A few LPS (caulastrea), but mostly softies (shrooms, zoos, colt, toadstool, GSPs, etc.) -Livestock = Flame Angel, Blue Catalina Goby, 2 x False...

    Live Sand Question.

YA, but probably not the best idea. There's bound to be some dieoff, and who knows what's mixed in the sand/water. If you don something like this I definitely wouldnt do too much at one time, and certainly far less than 25lbs.

How do I get my Zoo's to grow faster ???

Good strong lighting, moderate flow, and healthy water parameters.

What can I use for a sump ?

The dividers will help keep bubbles outta the display tank, as well as keep differeent compartments of the sump completely seperate. Not necessary, but unless you want tons of microbubbles I'd highly suggest it. It'll also give you a place to keep your return pump free of whatever else you...

    Bicolor Angels

You'll need lotsa LR for the Bicolor Angel to graze from. They are known to be voracious grazers, even more so than other dwarf angels.

Best deal you ever got at LFS?

Got a free Bicolor Blenny when I purchased a pieced of LR that he was living in.

    Sand Delema

If your tank's still cycling I'll assume that there's no livestock. This will make it a bit easier for you. First, remove all LR. Then just get a scoop (I made one from a 1g milk jug) and scoop out all the CC. Place all of the LR on the bare bottom of the tank, and then add LS. When adding...

    Colt and Zenia Problems

Xenia is known to do poorly when alkalinity levels are problematic.

    Mounting PCs to hood.

You should be able to buy the mounting clips at any hardware (Home Depot, Lowes, etc) store. I had to pick up some new ones for my PCs as well. I think I spent less than $10 for 8 mounting brackets.

decorator will not stop pinching BTA.. what is up?

The Decorator is most likely just checking out the BTA. I have a Decorator too who did the same exact thing. He fragged most of my corals a little, but did no harm to my BTA.

    Tang school

Kole Tangs and Sailfin Tangs are the first two that come to mind for me. My LFS keeps a school of Sailfins, and they look really nice together.

    ????bicolor angel

Yup. As mentioned you should have lotsa LR for the Bicolor to graze on. They seem to be more of a voracious grazer than other Dwarf Angel species, and IMO are less hardy than others as well.

Anyone order fish from here (saltwaterfish.com)?

You can expect the smallest order (w/ free shipping) from SWF.com to come out somewhere right around $100 IME. That's with about $81 in live stock. If you ordered $81 in livestock from any other store then you're looking at paying around $120 total. I have never ordered fish, but have received...

    Stocking ?

It really all depends on how long you've had the tank up and running. I think that if you add that Royal Gramma you may not be able to add other fish down the road. Royal Grammas can be a bit aggressive, and with your tank it should be the last fish added. Also after adding the Gramma you'll...
