depends on how high you hang em and the reflectors you use....3 would be better but then 1 would be better then none.

Best thing you can do is replace the 100 gpd RO membrane..These are drinking water membranes and only have a 90% rejection rate..I'd get one that was 75 gpd or less.

The plan sounds good..If you use Southdown don't rinse it, the fine silt you rinse away is the best part. I'd really try and build an overflow if you can..or use more then one bulkhead for draining. Things tend to clog faster in fuges.. What kind of lighitng are you going to use? I was at Costco...

well, you figure a Euro Reef CS8-2 uses a Sedra 5000, with the needle wheel that pump probably does...ooohhhh, say 300 gph...They use the same pump on the CS6-2+ models as well...The Mag 12 just sounds like too much too me for this skimmer. I'd bet the Gen X pump with the needle wheel would turn...

I've found that good Ca levels (around 400+) and Alk levels between say 2.8-3.6 work best for me..I'd rather not grow the stuff myself..I feel I had better growth under PC's then I do under MH's. I know the color was better under PC's. Good water flow helps a lot too.

These are kind of like the Euro Reef's, correct? .. I know the needle wheel isn't a must for these kind of skimmers but it sure would improve the skimming..Is this an 8" dia skimmer or 6"? The Mag 12 sounds kind of big, doesn't it? You might be able to get a Gen X pump with a needle wheel...

I've used most of the stuff out there..I like CaribSea Geo Marine. 20.00 for a 40 pound bag works for me.

I run two of these pendants....100.00 brand new is a good deal. I paid 245.00 for two of of them. They come with SLS quick disconnect, if you don't run the SLS ballast you'll have to hard wire em to your ballast.

IME, Mag pumps are worse then Rio's. I'd opt for anything other then a Mag.
