Everyone with a sandbed gets it. Are you siphoning your substrate??? I don't recommand mixing crushed coral and sand since the sand will most likely end up on the bottom while crushed coral end up being on top and then you have detritus issues you have to deal with. Siphoning is a must!!!

The only time you remove it is when you see parts of it's flesh is falling apart and turning white in color. You can easily remove it when it's in that stage, it's pretty much dead by that time.....Otherwise, leave it alone, they will do that somtime like it was mentioned earlier.....

I never remove the molting out of my tanks, they seem to go back to eat'em later....I have once heard they do that to get calcium, it beats me.....
