Well that looks great. Put some lights on it and let her rip! Nice aquascape I must add. Do you have a skimmer? The coral beauty will be fine. Is that hermits big claw white on the tip and black (or dark brown) at the base? He'll leave everything but the snails alone.

    SeaClone 100

Well I ask the question because I need to make a choice. Put it on the 29 gallon that is setup and buy lights for the 29. -OR- setup the 55, use that skimmer and buy lights for the 55. I don't want to by a 24 inch tec t5 light when a 48 tek t5 light is only $30 more. It'll come in handy much...

    29 gal reef

I have a 75 gal reef already but was looking to upgrade the 29 gal with some better lighting. I will most likely keep nothing more that softies and LPS. I'm not really sure what to do about the lighting. If I buy a new t5 setup I want to spend the little more on a longer light and just set up...

Check this out! Not even a blackout could put a damper on festivities at one Japanese aquarium where an electric eel is being used to light up its Christmas tree. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22242648/from/ET/

    WTB Ecotech Vortech pump

I work at a print shop in Rochester NY. I found out about these pumps because we are printing the boxes for them. They are so nice but SO EXPENSIVE. $345 for a pump and you need a wave controller to use one which is another $75? Outrageous! I'm trying to get them to send me one.

    SeaClone 100

That was my feelings. I don't have the money to spend on equipment for other tanks. If I'm going to spend that money it's going to be on my good display tank. I'm not in the market for a new skimmer. I was wondering what people thought about how well it works. So it's the seaclone or no tank...

    SeaClone 100

I just picked up a ASM G1x skimmer and boy does that thing rock my tank! I've got it in a 75gal. It replaced a seaclone 100 which was really just a toy in that tank. I have a 55 that I'd like to set up and will if that seaclone will be good enough. What do you think of that skimmer on a 55...

You can see them in the inverts section under crabs. They are fun to catch on the beach as they go in and out with the waves. They dig down in the sand so fast.

    Is it possible

Retro fits will lower your cost. I suggest the Tek T5 lights by Sunlight Supply. SPS will thrive fine under them but the real catch is that the Geisman bulbs are $20-$25 and they last 12-13 months! They make a wide array of types of bulbs as well. I don't know about other bulbs. If you get T5...

    brine shrimp

Where do you even get the eggs for brine shrinp? Brine shimp are just sea monkeys from when you were a kid aren't they? You can just add the eggs to water and they hatch?

If you had $500 to spend on a Skimmer...

There are a couple people selling ASM G Series skimmers in teh classifieds. I'm trying to get a G1 and I'm going to end up paying more than they are selling a G5 for. ASMs - best bang for the buck. The extra money can be spent on a good external pump, if your trying to spend extra money.

Yea, they're great. I love hearing the snapping coming from the tank. Useally I hear ::SNAP SNAP SNAP:: and I look over to see one of my other crabs hauling tail out of my pistols rock. Get one and call him Wyatt Earp
