Thanks nick, actually I was looking at that idea this morning, even have the spare box to run it on, just don't have time to learn everything right now. I'm in the process of learning Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, PHP and mySQL LOL only so many hours each day you know :) It's a great idea...

cat used southdown as a litter box

 ROFL toooo funny! Leave the sand as is, tie cat to your largest piece of live rock, fill tank with fresh saltwater, presto cycle begins and cat problem goes away :) hmmmm only drawback is you'll probably need a HUGE clean-up crew, let me rethink solution LOL Later, Paul

" wet dry " can I get rid of it ? bought a skimmer "

I'm not going to offer any suggestions on your original question here because I'm still new to this game but I will answer your last question. In your original post you asked if you had enough bio load without your wet/dry. Normally the term bio-load applies to what fish etc. are in your tank...

    Wood Protectant

Just so you don't think you're being ignored here LOL ... I didn't use any of the "thenes" which is why I didn't answer earlier. For my tank, canopy and stand I used laquer, to the tune of six coats, followed by several coats of a good furniture polish. Lot of work but most people who have seen...

lower power MH bulbs in higher power ballasts?

I don't think so. I know that you *can* overdrive flourescent bulbs but it decreases their useful lifespan. I don't think the same is true of MH bulbs, I think you'd blow the bulb. Just my .02 and I'm sure I'll be corrected, it's just been that kind of day :( Later, Paul

    poss. silicone poison

So many possibilities :( Personally I think if it were happening in my tank I'd take a water sample to a professional water analysis company (yellow pages under water analysis, at least here) and have them run a *COMPLETE* water analysis for you. It'll run $25 - $50 bucks but should reveal the...

    drilling tempered glass

LOL my fault, I had written an appology but I placed it in an "open" arrow brackets and the board apparently interpreted it as an "undefined" HTML code and didn't post the message posting ... LOL at any rate, all I said was that I was sitting in the corner feeling embarrassed for being wrong :)...

    sump

ricky, you might want to take a couple of steps back and think about that. IMO a stand with that small an access area is going to be a real REAL pain in the bottom to maintain any sort of sump and/or refugium. You may want to think about buying/building another stand with enough room underneath...
