    aqua remora c powerhead

My Aqua C Remora came with a Maxijet 1200 pump. I wouldn't think the pump should cost any more than $25.

    Nitrate Problems

If you have Crushed Coral, then your nitrates will most likely be higher than if you had a sand bed. The CC collects debris and waste in the holes and cracks and that is where it turns to nitrate. Along with a good skimmer, you could add a fuge with some macroalgaes. Good luck.

    UV sterilizer

I think the money could be better spent on a good protein skimmer or something. I have used one, but I don't use one anymore. I probably never will use one again. I would rather set up a QT tank to make sure ich isn't introduced in my tank.

    remora c

I have the maxijet 1200 too.... That is so strange that yours is not working. Do a google search for the company that makes the remora. I think it is something like protienskimmer.com. Send them an email. I have emailed them before and they replied quickley and seemed eager to help. They...

    remora c

I have had mine running on my tank for about 2 1/2 weeks now and it is producing foam and still producing microbubbles. It took it about a week to start producing foam. Are you using any water conditioners or anything in your tank that may cause it not to work?

Could it be a peanut worm? I found several of them while curing my last bach of Fiji live rock.

    uv sterilizer yes or no??

Been there done that... I don't use one anymore and I probably never will use one in the future. I would spend my money towards a good skimmer before I invested in a UV sterolizer. FOr them to be effective, the water has to move slow enough for the UV light to kill. It also will only kill...

    27mtaylor-precured live rock

I got the fiji live rock. However I have only had it in my tank for maybe 2 months now. There is a lot of purple coraline on it. I have also notice some sort of polyp on it but it is fairly small and I can't tell exactly what it is. There are several other things on it too, but at this point...

    pre-cured live rock

I bought some precured live rock from another site, but during the shipping you will have some die off. Therefore you should cure the rock again. Mine cured in exactly 2 weeks. I cured it in a rubbermaid container with a heater and a powerhead. I did occasional water changes also. I would...

    Need A New Skimmer

If you don't get your coralife skimmer straightened out and you still want to get a Remora, I paid $168 for mine. I emailed the company and they gave me a list of local dealers and websites to buy from. I ordered mine from one of their recomended websites.

    shipping fish

From my experience of ordering them on line, they come triple bagged and then put in a foam cooler to keep the temp consistant. You may want to put something in there to keep the bags from turning over. Then the cooler is put into the shipping box. Definately note "This Side Up". Oh, also...

    curing live rock

I bought some live rock from an online site and it took exactly 2 weeks for it to cure. I recomend scrubbing the dead stuff off before starting the curing process. I cured it in a Rubbermaid container with a heater and a power head.

    Which would you pick

I'm not trying to disagree with Piscian, but my brother has the hippo, yellow and salfin in a 120 and they all get along fine. The variety of color looks good too. 3 Yellows would look nice also.

    Need a goby and pics

I don't have any pics, but I have a neon goby and a citron goby. Both are neat fish. The neon goby is a cleaner and only gets about 1.5-2 inches long. They both have their own unique personality. I enjoy watching both of them.

    dead live rock?

Did you get it from the LFS? Already cured? Sometimes it can take weeks and months before you notice any new "stuff" on the live rock.
