What's the difference in aragonit sand and regular sand. I have about 20lbs. of sand in my 125gal tank and I'm about to add 50lbs. of SD sand, which is a finer texture than the sand I have in there now. Is it alright to blend the two then add l/s later?

I just purchased some SD sand and I would like to know how did you introduce it to the display tank? I just soaked mine. How long did you soak yours? Did it foam-up? Mine did. Did you have any fish when you added yours? Because I do and I wanted to know if you had any pointers.

You're buying a established tank with a shark in it right? If so add the lr first the the ls and the tank shouldn't cycle over again.

You should post this in the reef section you'll get more knowledgable and quicker responses. Because all the people there have reef tanks.

My guess is that if the lfs did it, it should be safe. The only thing you'll have to clean the lights more than if you had the splash cover.
