    Must move anemone - How?

Yes. But if he doesn't like how the water flows in his new spot or how the light hits him, he'll just move someplace else.

    Must move anemone - How?

Anemones move where they feel comfortable. If you DO move him, you risk injuring him and he will end up moving some place else more than likely.

should i get rid of my filter all together?

How big is your tank? Do you have a skimmer on it? Since you seem to have room for a HOB filter, you might consider getting a small HOB skimmer instead. The CPR bakpak is a nice one if its within your budget. That will remove alot of organics. The junk you see in your floss is likely to be...

    Hungry Octopus

If you don't want a lid and still want an octopus, put astroturf around the top of the tank. Saw it on the Discovery Channel. It works.

    72G Bowfront

Unfortunatley, the bottoms of most larger AGA tanks are tempered, hence un-drillable. I have a 65 gallon tank with the holes drilled in bottom with an overflow, and its holes are 1.5 inch for the return, and 1.75 inch for the drain. I have excellent flow in both directions, my pump is rated for...

    Synthetic sea mixtures

Reef Crystals is another product made by the folks that make Instant Ocean. They just add extra calcium, magnesium, iodine, and various other trace elements. I have read that its not worth the extra cost, especially if you do your own additives.

    SeaClone Skimmer Mods?

Here is a webpage that should help. http://www.reefcentral.com/diy/seacl...ifications.htm I also drilled a hole in the skimmate lid and ran a piece of airline tubing down it with an air diffuser on the end and plugged it into a small air pump. Increases bubble quantity quite a bit, skimmate is...

should i get rid of my filter all together?

Problem is, if the floss is pulling the stuff out, its STILL in the tank decomposing and adding to dissolved organics until you remove the floss and clean/replace it. That is the main reason I don't use a filter sponge in my overflow. You know what they say, out of sight out of mind, and in my...

    Check em out!

You might watch the edge of thier shells where growth occurs, if it grows in normal turbo coloring, you might assume they are dyed. Especially if you have purchased livestock from that store before that was dyed.

    How often to use DT's

I've heard that DT's is a bit more forgiving if you accidentally over use it a time or two, because it is living and does not decompose like other phytoplankton products. It will eventually die I assume, but your animals may have taken care of most of what is left, and your skimmer should catch...

    Just call me STUPID!!

Chris L, PLEASE do yourself and your family a favor and get a GFCI outlet installed in the circuit that feeds power to your tank. You can also buy short extension cords with GFCI in them, but the outlet if installed properly will protect every other outlet in the circuit. Your wife would not...

    Cleaner shrimp and ick

Traps, luck, creative partitioning with pieces of glass or acrylic. I've even heard of using fly-hooks with bait. But I imagine thats the absolute last resort.

    southdown sand rant

Venting steam. And I was kidding about the money growing on trees thing. I'm not mad about it anymore, I think I may have found a way to get another brand of sand online for about 75-80 cents a pound, vs the 1.20 a pound locally. Not as much a savings vs southdown, but a savings nonetheless...

    what in-sump skimmer?

I was thinking a berlin turbo or perhaps a turboflotor, or the Kent unit that recently came out. Is a turboflotor or the kent any good? I know the turboflotor comes with a dreaded rio pump, but I can get an equivalent mag pump online once the rio takes a dump. I'm looking to spend under 250-275...

    southdown sand rant

:-) Just a rant, you may call it a whine if you wish, that word is as good as any. Where I come from though, money does not grow on trees. 10 bucks for 100 pounds of southdown is a heck of a lot better than 120 bucks of the caribsea equivalent. I can use the 110 bucks on lights, or toward a new...
