Lighting & stocking question for 5G Jebo Nano tank

Dont keep even one Clown Fish in a 5g... You can do 2 small fish like clown gobies, trimmas, or some of the small goby/pistol shrimp goby combos though...

    Securing Feather Dusters

Yes, they can be solid-colored and "two-toned". There aren't any artifically colored.

Another What Can I Keep? Thread

Wow, you really think I can keep most SPS with that? Sweeeeet. So, any particular SPS I should stay away from, though?

Another What Can I Keep? Thread

Hey, what types of coral can I keep in a 5.5g AGA with 36 watts of T5? The tank is 10" high. I know I can keep most softies and LPS, but what is totally ruled out besides 90% of the types of SPS out there?

SPS in a 5.5g AIO Pico

Ok, just checkin to see if they'll do OK, I will probably post pics if I get it started up if I get a new camera, mine is like 6 megapixels or something only. You are right though that the water could change so I will probably make a DIY ATO for it.

SPS in a 5.5g AIO Pico

Would 40 watts of T5 lighting be able to to sustain some SPS, say a monti in a 5.5g tank at the higher end of the tank?

How do you get rid of dead fish/inverts/coral?

Plant them in my garden as fertalizer.

    Pico question

Yea, why not go 5.5 AGA, AIO, then you can keep your firefish and there are many more options for them. Here is a thread on Nano-Reef http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/inde...owtopic=150101, not sure if its allowed to post this, but I hope it helps you out, though I wouldn't add a clown like what...

    Good starter fish?

I've heard you shouldn't use fish for cycling because it pretty much kills em in the long run, so instead I would just throw a piece of raw shrimp in there for a few days to start the cycle instead of killing a damsel.

10 gallon tank live rock to cycle tank question ?

That should work fine, but you can jump start the cycle by putting a piece of raw shrimp in there for a few days.

    Pico question

In that small of a tank you could keep 1-2 pom pom crabs, 3 sexy shrimp, and some coral, thats it pretty much besides CUC.

    Pistol Shrimp

Depends on the size and the personality of the individual shrimp. Mines likes to grab hermits, kill em and use the shells as a barrier in front of its cave.

    Lighting

Uhh, as in coral? Probably shrooms, zoas, rics, LPS, if I get the T5, maybe a clam? I've heard it can be done.. I'm gettin a standard, not a long I don't think, I don't have it yet and I didn't know it would go off the sides of the tank, so it looks like the 18" is the only way to get anyway.

    WTheck coulde happend?

Well, you could have first of all killed him by moving the rocks, but if there is no sand sifting, it could either be that - A - its dead B - he moved his burrow to a spot that you don't see the sand sifting He/she could have died by the goby killing him if he was small enough ( its happened...

    Twin Spot Goby

Darn, I thought I might be able to keep them, but I started thinking they might be hard to feed when I saw them sand sifting so much.

    Twin Spot Goby

*********** says you need a refugium for one, I guess that means they eat pods like dragonets and scooter blennies, but it doesn't seem like they do... Anyone have one and give me an advice on feeding one if I do decide get one?
