If you want to list info about your tank you can add a "signature" to your profile that will show on all of your posts. Click on "user cp" at the top of the page, then click on "edit profile" then scroll down to the "signature" portion and add your list. I tried to make my signature somewhat...

    sleeper gobys

I have a Golden Headed Sleeper Goby that I've kept for about 8 months now. As they get more used to their surroundings they will become more active, especially if you have a sand bed. I have been able to feed mine shrimp pellets, after soaking them for a few minutes before dropping them in...

OT: AOL Error - Pretty Funny

I use Wal Mart Connect. It is a lower cost version of Compuserve. It is almost identical to AOL except that it is only $9.95 per month. Same unlimited use and same dial up numbers. I sometimes get a similar error message. You can just drag it to the side and continue what you were doing...

    Aerating Saltwater Mix

Thanks for all the replies. I think I will add air to the mix to the powerhead for 24hrs. with just fresh water. Then run the powerhead without the air mix for another 24hrs. after I add the salt. That will be a balance of both and still reduce the salt build up on the 10 gal. tank that I use...

    Aerating Saltwater Mix

Up until now I have used a airstone to aerate my mixed saltwater for water changes. I usually let the newly mixed water aerate for 24 - 48 hrs. I am going to start using a powerhead to mix my waterchange water. When using a powerhead to mix and aerate the salt should I used the air tube...

    test tubes

I know that you can clean hydrometers with a vinegar and water mixture. I am not sure about test tubes. I e-mailed Aquarium Pharmaceuticals and asked them them the same question. If they answer me I will let you know. :)

    Skimmer Differences

The Sea Clone 100 should be about 18" high. The Sea Clone 150 is about 25" high. Both are 3.5" in diameter. :)

Bak Pak 2, Prizm, & Sea Clone dimmensions???

Thanks for the reply ricksreef. It seems that the larger more visible skimmers also seem to be the more effective skimmers. By keeping a low visibility profile the smaller skimmers seem to keep a lower performance profile too. I guess I'm looking for the best compromise between lower profile...

    Are Coral Beauties very active?

I fall in line with the other replys. I added my Coral Beauty about 2 months ago. It is constantly swimming all over the tank and grazing for any food that it can find. It is definitely a very active fish. Enjoy:)

    Moving 2 tanks this weekend....any advise ?

Hello Mike. I don't have any experience with moving live rock. My Son recently moved his FO tank from one household to another but he did not have any live rock and he was still using the original 55 gal tank at the new house. He used ice chests to move the water , fish and inverts. He left...

Bak Pak 2, Prizm, & Sea Clone dimmensions???

I am considering adding a protein skimmer to my tank. I would like to hear from owners of the CPR Bak Pak 2, Prizm, and Sea Clone skimmers to find out the width that they take up on the back of the tank and also the height that they rise above the edge of the tank. I have about 5.25" of space...

    Protein Skimmer & Water Tests?

I am thinking about adding a protein skimmer to my tank. Right now I am just doing monthly 10 gallon water changes. The pH level stays at 8.2-8.3. The Ammonia level stays at 0. The Nitrite level stays at 0. The Nitrates vary from 5-15. They drop after water changes and then gradually rise...

    Water Changes or not...

I do a 20 - 25% water change each month. I say 20-25% only because I am not sure how much water is displaced from the original 46 gallon tank after adding sand. I change 10 gallons out each month. My water test results are pH - 8.2<8.4, Ammonia - 0, Nitrite - 0, Nitrate - 5<15. :) :D

    Copper in tank?

I would try a poly-filter. They remove copper and change to a blue color as the copper is removed giving a visual indication as well. :)

    how long was your cycle?

My tank took about 4 and 1/2 weeks to cycle. I used a product called "cycle" which kept my peak levels low.(Advice from local fish store). When I set up my QT/HT tank I let it cycle without any additives and the peak levels were much higher and more noticeable on the test kits. That...

    Ot- Nfl Superbowl

Yeah the STEELERS are out :( . But they had their chances. Now I can just sit back and watch the rest of the games without as much stress and still a lot of enjoyment. The Steelers will just have to work their way back next year like the Raiders are doing this year. Still A STEELER fan:) :D
