if the tank was treated with copper it is impossible to get it out totally. Maybe 99.99 can be removed but there will still be some trace elemnts in there. I think Bang Guy new of a way to possibly do it. Wait till he reads this post.

i paid around 215 forf the one with the moonlights.

i spent about half of that for the current-usa satellite. It comes with 4- 65 watt bulbs. It included 2 10,000k, 2 acitnics, 1 fan, and 2 lunar lights. I think it is 48". It is for my 55 gallon reef. I have no complaints so far.

The temperature was checked with 2 different thermostats. Both were within .3 the same. I assume it has to be the heater but the temperature in my tank has not dropped even though i dropped my heater down 5 degrees. If i was home all day i would just shut off the heater completly and monitor...

i already ordered a chiller and should be recieving it tomorrow. Now i am going to set the chiller temp to 79 degrees. do i set my heater for 78? Anyone sure on how to do this?

well..... after this weekend there has still been no change in the tank temperature. i turned the heater to 72 degrees. It still comes on but shuts right off after a second or two. tank is still 84 degrees.

All I can tell you is that my yellow tang has that unicorn looking top fin. for some reason or another some fish get that. I have had him for over a year and he is perfectly fine and healthy. I would defenitly be worried about the back fins. Sounds like agression. where does he sleep? maybe...

calcium 400- 450 alk 8-12 (9-11 for reef tanks) PH 8.2- 8.4 If your calcium is that I would take an educated guess that your alk is high too. I would get a salifert calcium test and use it. Don't the red sea tests just give you normal or high test results. depending on what types of corals...

what test kit are you using? that seems really out of the ordinary. Also what is your alk and ph levels?

high high is your calcium. Fish don't seem to mind calcium from what i am aware of. :thinking:

I am from Manalapan. I would defenitly be down for throwing a few back. TGIF!!! I can honestly stare at my tank for hours. If my heater is set for 78 and it makes the temperature 82 do you think if i set the heater for 75 it will make it 78? I have no idea how to make a auto topper? :notsure:

i am just worried about the winter when i cant keep my room at 65 degrees all the time. Once the heat goes on in my house i am afraid of what is going to happen. I travel a lot so i dont want the water evaporating to fast on me and not being able to fill it back up everyday.

Hopefully someone here can help me out. I have always had temperature problems in my tank. The temperature is usually 82 degrees when i have the window AC unit on high which makes me feel like a polar bear in my room. I have my heater set for 78 degrees and it continously goes on all day...

does the top fin kind of look like a unicorn now.....the front being raised and the middle dropping down?

I could have sworn bubble tip anemone's will do very well under those lights. I think there are even people who on this board who have succesfully kept them under this lighting. If i am wrong sorry for the min-information.
