I hope this works out for you, IMO a Yellow Tang should be added last (not first) because they can get territorial and agressive. I think the rule of thumb here is least agressive to most agressive, one fish at a time. Good Luck.

Would removing the 2" plastic back strip help gas exchange?

Thanks, always appreciate the advice. Protein skimmer is running just fine. Although the chaeto I put into the refugium is not growing all that quickly, but it's only been a couple of weeks. Would adding an air stone (or two) in the refugium help with gas exchange?

Would removing the 2" plastic back strip help gas exchange?

I'm running a 75 FOWLR and I'm working on stabalizing the system so I can introduce some easy corals. I now have a complete top cover (glass with that 2" plastic back piece), but I'm concerned about adequate gas exchange. I have good surface agetation, but the surface is covered. I also have a...

Can't keep new fish alive - What am I doing wrong???

I understand what you're saying, but in this case I bet they're really dirty, like little nitrate factories, and he's got almost no bioload in his tank anyway. If he leaves 3/4 of them in, unwashed, just oozing nitrate, it's going to take forever to get his levels good. Don't you think, given...

Most people use a 10 - 20 for a QT tank, do a search and you'll find pleanty of info on setting one up. Yes you should have 90 snails eventually, I'd add them in bunches of maybe 10 just to be safe.

Starting my first setup, please help!

You'll regret using conditioned tap, you really need to find RO/DI. I run an auto topoff, so the small amount it adds doesn't make a difference temperature wise. A gallon or two, probably no big deal as long as it's not too cold if you add it slowly, but when you do water changes make sure the...

Diamond Goby or Fighting Conch or other?

I know I know, Yellow Tang has got to go, I'm just procrastinating because I've had him so long and he's my favorite fish. Plus he's got a serious bromance going on with my clown, they're buds.

Rule of thumb, one per gallon. Stick with snails.

Can't keep new fish alive - What am I doing wrong???

So you dumped two dwarf angles and two butterflys into a 20 gallon QT tank? Did I read that right? Does your tank now contain one single pygmy anglefish? Any CUC? Notwithstanding the solid advice above (read it carefully, good stuff)... I'd bet your salinity or nitrates are out of whack plus...
