    stater fish...

There are a couple more questions we need to know. Are you going aggressive or non? How much live rock? What kind of substrate? What types of fish do you like? Are you currently cycled and ready to go and what kind of equipment do you have? How much experience do you actually have...

    black sand

Hmmm, I don't think that lava that has hardened in the specific area and been underwater prolly has any to leech out. It is the kind that they sell that is red colored and has been sitting on land for years that has those. Kind of the same reason you wouldn't throw granite in your sw tank. Just...

    a true lol cat

I did some research on them. Pretty amazing. They actually are way more expensive now, depending on where you get them and how far removed they are from the wild cat. They call the half breeds F1 and second generation f2 and so on. F1 are about 8-10,000!!! They are a bit larger than a normal...

OMG morgage the house...lol. Well I wouldn't go that far but I do want to make it as easy as possible next time, at least with an ATO because this hauling buckets thing is for the birds.......I would like to just push a button and dump 10% and then have it fill back up with another button....lol

    Help With switching to Fuge

+1 on that. Live rock rubble would be a much better choice. Way way better filtration! Other than that I would also drop the UV sterilizer because it can also kill beneficial things not just troublesome. Looks good so far!!

    Lion Fish

There are lots but it would be easier to ask what kind NOT to put with him actually. No fish that can fit in his mouth and that includes full grown size. And fish that are known nippers like triggers, especially a tank that small. Can I ask what type of lion you were considering? A volitan is...

    black sand

Sure. It has the same care as any other sand. I just bought it bulk dry from my LFS and let the LR seed it. Anyway, I love it and am happy with my choice, so go for it! Ummm..... and we demand pics and a tank build thread!!!

    black sand

I would say that lighter colored things do stand out a bit more. Like for instance pastel colored corals look really bright. But, yes you do notice everything on the sand. I just make sure that I vacuum the top layer of the sand with my gravel vac. I don't dig with it though because I don't want...

    Is this coral sick?

Ok maybe my math was off... 54x4 is 216. That divided by 55 is 3.92 which is 3-4 watts per gallon. Am I not correct? If it was SPS that would not be enough. If it is a softie it should be plenty. T-5 is a little stronger though and individual reflectors can make a difference. Anyway, he said it...
