the loud popping noise could be a mantis. and if that is true, if will be fun for you to try to catch them. I would not assume that the crab is the killer. if the fish was killed the crab would then go over and munch on it. can you take a pic of the crab. other question what kind of LR...

i would not have them, but it is your own tank as bang guy says. for some people they work. since i keep on finding them eating my mushrooms, I for one will not have them.

I was wondering on how feasible it is to set up a 20 gal nano reef using the eclipse hood. I have no prior experience with then, but i do have a few 20 gal tanks laying around taking up space. i know witht the lighting i can not do any hard corals, but i was thinking soft coral / mushroom...

there should be a wire diagram. green is ground usually. with my ballast. i hooked them up in series.

I agree with the URI. when i had 4 VHO's i ran 2 actinic blue and 2 actinic white. i kept the actinic blues when i switched to MH. have you already got your ballast. if not. the icecap 660. wonderful thing.

places do sell kits that seed the DSB. also, if you know any local reef keepers many will willingly trade ls or give you some. i noticed my DSB was happy with all kinds of worms and stuff at about 11 months. i did 1 part LS to 5 parts argonite.

that and the whole kamakazi thing that they also do. I would not put one in a 55 as well. they are cool looking fish but . . . .

if you don't find it in the books you should have about 1.022- 1.025 ppm salt content in your tank.

your cleaner shrimp will also become dinner for the snowflake. eels just love those guys. it works in the ocean because the shrimp can run away and hide. in a tank. nowhere to go.

nah man if i had a camera i would show you a nightmare!! my 2 sumps (they are connected with 1.5 inch through puts) so i have no place under my tank that is not being used. so thinking if i set a 10 gallon tank inside one of my 20-30 gallon (rubbermade) sumps. it may work.
